The Chicago Sky suffered an 84-71 defeat to the Seattle Storm on Sunday.
While the game’s final score makes it seem like it was a blowout, the contest was actually extremely close until the Storm pulled away in the final few minutes.
Sky rookie Angel Reese finished the game with 17 points and 14 rebounds in 40 minutes played. This set the WNBA record for the 14th consecutive double-double by any player in league history.
Yet, one awkward moment from the Sky’s postgame press conference is raising a lot of eyebrows.

At one point in the press conference, Reese was being asked a question by a reporter on Zoom when a heated argument about an “intimate relationship” took over the question asker’s audio.
Because only one Zoom account can be heard at a time, the presumption is that another Zoom reporter forgot to mute their microphone; hence why the awkward conversation could be heard.
Reese, Sky teammate Marina Mabrey, and Chicago head coach teresa Weatherspoon were initially confused and then stunned about what they were hearing.
At the end, Reese appears to be mouthing the words, “somebody’s getting fired” as a result of the uncomfortable mishap.
Certainly a strange moment from Sunday’s presser.
