The Inter Miami team played Orlando to a scoreless tie on Wednesday night, with Drake Callender recording his second clean sheet of the year with three saves.
Miami (8-2-4) ended their five-game winning streak. Miami has never beaten the Lions in MLS play in Orlando. Miami wanted to win six straight regular-season games in a single season and become the third team to do so since 2019.
This season, Orlando (3-5-4) is just 1-3-3 at home.
Lionel Messi’s left leg injury prevented him from playing for Miami. Despite a near-accident in the first half on Saturday, Messi played the entire match. After defender George Campbell fouled him late in the first half, he departed the game briefly due to a left knee injury.
In the first three minutes, Pedro Gallese made a fantastic save to deny Luis Suarez, who previously this season scored a brace against Orlando.
In the 32nd minute, Callender made a diving stop on Martin Ojeda’s attempt to preserve the scoreless draw.
