Frank Warren Drops a Bombshell: Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua Rematch Not Guaranteed Next.

In the event that a rematch with Anthony Joshua is not possible, Frank Warren maintains that Daniel Dubois is being given other choices.

In a spectacular performance at Wembley Stadium last month, Dubois defeated Joshua to win the IBF heavyweight title again at the first attempt.

Dubois beat Joshua in sensational fashion.

Joshua is eager for atonement, and both sides have indicated that an immediate sequel is being planned for February in Saudi Arabia. The champion has stated that while he is open to a rematch right now, he will consider any and all choices that become available in early 2025.

Additionally, his promoter Frank Warren stated during an appearance on White and Jordan that a rematch with AJ is not yet certain.

He said: “He’ll fight next year, early next year. And we are just looking at a few matches

“I hope we get it done by next week, who he’ll be facing. But he’s going to defend his title and we’ll see who it’s going to be.

“It may be AJ, it may not. It depends. But whatever happens, he’ll be out.

“He’ll be facing someone, that’s for sure, and capitalising on what he did in that fight.

“I mean, he really, really announced himself on the world stage in a big way, didn’t he?”

Warren was then asked more specifically about the rumoured February card in Riyadh could host the rematch.

He responded: “That’s what I would like to see.

The pair are both open to a rematch next year.

Warren insists a deal for the the rematch isn’t yet completed.

“That’s where I’d like to see him fighting. Well, we’ll see what happens.

“I mean, I have no problem with that fight [Joshua rematch]. I’d have that fight all day long for him.”

A huge card is being plotted for early next year with both Joshua and Dubois expected to be involved.

However, the two might be awaiting the result of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch, in which Dubois might try to earn an opportunity for undisputed triumph. Following the upset, Joshua received some calls to retire, so he will need to rebuild in order to contend for the world title again.

He has already attempted two times to exact revenge on Andy Ruiz Jr. and Usyk, but he has only succeeded in defeating the former. The Briton is still a commercial celebrity with a premium interest in fights, but he maintains that he has more to offer.

The ‘Gypsy King’ isn’t letting it go, so it appears like a fight with Fury is still in the cards.

With Dubois now at the forefront of the heavyweight spotlight, 2025 looks to be an interesting year for him.
