Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds may have decided to pull the plug on their years-long arrangement this year
There’s one major rule that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have made clear to each other for years, but it looks like they’ve just scrapped it.
The celebrity couple are currently out promoting their own movies this month – Deadpool and Wolverine and It Ends With Us – so it’s safe to say they have been pretty busy.
But that’s exactly how fans clocked they’ve broken the golden rule in their marriage.
Okay, so if you’re not in the know about the rule, it was revealed years ago by Lively, who spoke to her friend and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-star Amber Tamblyn on her Substack show, Further Ado, about her relationship with Reynolds.
She explained that they wanted to ‘prioritize our personal life’ above work commitments.
Especially since they now have children, the couple have a lot of things they have to juggle so wanted to be giving their kids, work and relationship the time it deserves to flourish.
As part of this rule, the Gossip Girl actress revealed that they don’t let their work schedules clash and made ‘a rule not to work at the same time’.
If not, they’d have to try to juggle their time around each other, which could lead to them not being close for a while as they both shoot scenes.
She continued: “That takes working really hard when we’re not.
“Just like financial planning and sustaining that; it takes balance.”
However, this rule is a far cry from how much she used to work when on the set of the high-school upper east side show, where she claimed it was ‘six years of my life, and we were sometimes shooting three episodes at once.’
She was constantly ‘working hard and going and going and going and going and not stopping.’
However, as the couple have both been on the promotional tours together as of late, it looks like they’re currently working at the same time.
There was even the instance which saw Lively take on the role of Ladypool and their kids cameo in the Deadpool film too.
Reynolds was also involved in Lively’s film, even writing some dialogue in the flick.
However, Reynolds told Access Hollywood: “We don’t split up. Like, I shoot movies and my wife shoots movies, and we travel all over the place, and we just all go together.
“I think that’s been the best part of it is that we really don’t spend a lot of time apart. I get to spend a lot of time with my girls.”
