“Happy Birthday to the one and only, Greatest Showman,” Reynolds wrote of his longtime friend
Ryan Reynolds has plans to keep collaborating with pal Hugh Jackman for decades!
As Jackman turned 56 on Saturday, Oct. 12, his longtime friend and Deadpool & Wolverine costar wished him a happy birthday with a sweet tribute — and foreshadowed years of tomfoolery to come.
The Proposal star, 47, filled an Instagram post with pictures of himself and Jackman, ranging from recent set photos to adorable throwback shots, all of which showed them brimming with smiles and laughing together.

The collection also featured a shot of the pair’s respective superhero masks, as well as cameos from their Deadpool & Wolverine collaborator and good friend Shawn Levy.
In the final slide, Reynolds added a black-and-white shot of himself and Jackman leaning into each other as they smiled softly.
The Free Guy star — and king of Instagram tributes — rounded out his post by penning a short and sweet message to Jackman.
“I hope we get to do this til we’re 90,” Reynolds wrote in the caption. “Happy Birthday, @thehughjackman.”
“A lot of years,” Reynolds added. “A lot of adventures.”
The actor also continued his tribute to Jackman on Instagram Stories, where he shared a solo shot of the Logan star to “Power to Believe” by The Dream Academy.
Alongside the picture, the actor added an Indiana Jones quote from Raiders of the Lost Ark — “It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage” — plus a nod to one of Jackman’s most iconic roles outside of Wolverine, P. T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman.
“Happy Birthday to the one and only, Greatest Showman,” he wrote.
Reynolds’ touching post comes shortly after the two stars celebrated their joint birthday month earlier this month.
In an Instagram post shared by Levy, 56, Jackman and Reynolds — who will turn 48 on Oct. 23 — posed on each side of an elaborate floral birthday cake, holding up the tiered confection as they made shocked faces.
The director also joined the pair for a couple of group snapshots elsewhere in his post, sandwiching himself between the onscreen heroes for a trio shot in a wooded area.
“October is the best month for buddy birthdays🎂,” Levy wrote in the caption. “A perfect fall day celebrating early with two of the BEST❤️💛.”
