Bill Maher Makes Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift’s Political Influence

After making headlines with his predictions about the fate of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance, Bill Maher has made another controversial statement about the singer.

In a new interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for his podcast Club Random, Maher compared Swift’s influence over her fans to that of a cult leader.

“If she said, ‘Vote for Trump,’ then he’d win,” he said. “That’s not good.”

“Trump [with his supporters], that’s a cult—but so is this,” Maher added. “It is a cult. Maybe a cult leader can be a source for good and not evil and I think she genuinely is. I have no reason to put her down or desire to. I always have the greatest respect for a success,” the 68-year-old added.

“Respect” or not, Maher didn’t hesitate to double down on his earlier criticisms of her relationship with Kelce.

“Do you want my prediction about the love affair [between Swift and Travis Kelce]?” he asked Glaser.

“He’s gonna dump her. It’s just what guys like that do. They get the f— stink on them of like, the celebrity woman, and then they’re a made man for the rest of their life,” he said, going on to cite Pete Davidson as an example of this behavior.

“As soon as [Davidson] got with Ariana Grande, he was a made man for the rest of his life. And I feel like this is what’s gonna happen [with Kelce and Swift],” Maher added.

Glaser, for her part, disagreed.

“I think Travis is different,” she said.
