Prince Harry and Meghan’s secrets could be spilled after former royal secretary quits key role

Simon Case, who is stepping down as Cabinet Secretary this year, worked closely with Prince William during the period the relationship between the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es and the rest of the royals broke down

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly on high alert following the announcement that Simon Case, the head of Britain’s civil service, is stepping down. His departure could potentially pave the way for a tell-all memoir about the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es, raising eyebrows within the couple’s camp.

Case, who will leave his role as Cabinet Secretary for health reasons, has been in the position since August 2020. Notably, he served as Prince William’s private secretary from July 2018, placing him at the center of the royal family’s dynamics during the tumultuous period when Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royals deteriorated, ultimately leading to their relocation to the U.S. in 2020.

The Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle has speculated that Case might consider writing a book detailing his experiences with the royal family, adding to the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es’ concerns about their already strained relationship with the monarchy.

While he likely signed a non-disclosure agreement, it is argued this will only have applied to working with William, leaving him free to write about Harry and Meghan. Mr Case, who would have been privy to bombshell private information, started working for William just two months after Harry and Meghan wed in May 2018.

He would have been privy to the fallout that followed, including bullying claims made by – and against – Meghan and the couple’s decision to quit royal life in 2020. The Hardcastle column states: “While all courtiers are expected to be sphinx-like, Case could succumb to the pot of literary gold at the end of the royal rainbow.”

It comes amid reports Meghan is wrestling with the idea of writing a memoir herself. Literary agents are said to be positioning themselves to take on the project after the huge commercial success of Harry’s Spare. But the Duchess is understood to be holding back due to the impact it could have on Harry’s hopes of reconciling with his family.
