Priyanka Chopra said she was tired of rejection and wanted to quit working in show business.
Priyanka Chopra is on a world domination spree. From promoting Citadel in all corners of the world, to then promoting her film Love Again, Priyanka has been on the cover of every prominent magazine, has spoken to almost every known podcaster and she continues to maintain the aura that she has had for decades now. In a new interview, Priyanka said that at one point she wanted to quit because she was tired of rejection.
The actor told Grazia, “There were so many times I wanted to quit. I was tired of rejection. I felt dismissed and patronised on set, like people didn’t believe I could do my job even when Bollywood is as huge as it is. I had taken such a big risk leaving my career in India and that really was a concern for me. I felt like I had bitten off more than I can chew.”
Priyanka Chopra is appearing on the cover of 12 editions of the magazine across the globe further highlighting her global superstardom. “Perseverance was my only way out,” the actor said as she spoke about making her way in Hollywood. She shared, “Professionally, I know that I’m in an amazing place, after 23 years I’m getting the roles I always wanted. Personally, there is nowhere else I want to be but home.”
Priyanka Chopra welcomed her daughter, Malti Marie, with husband Nick Jonas in 2022, describing her as her “greatest gift.” She expressed, “Everything I do, I do for her. She’s the greatest gift that has ever happened to us. She is our homing signal and our beacon of light. But neither Nick nor I could do what we do without the support of our families.”
While Chopra’s recent projects, Citadel and Love Again, did not receive critical acclaim and left fans underwhelmed, she is looking ahead to new opportunities. She is set to appear in Heads of State, alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, as well as the Hindi film Jee Le Zaraa, featuring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. With these upcoming roles, Chopra continues to expand her impressive repertoire in both Hollywood and Bollywood.
