Anthony Joshua was knocked out by world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley. Speaking ahead of the fight, Joshua said: “I’ve been reminding myself what I can do and what I’m capable of. I’m not depending on punch power. It takes a lot more than that to be a great fighter. I’ve got the fighting spirit and that’s how I’ll break him down, with my spirit.”
Joshua will earn millions for fighting Dubois as he will attempt to become a three-time heavyweight champion. With that said, Manchester Evening News has taken a look at his net worth and personal life.
What is Joshua’s net worth?
Based on the latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List, the 34-year-old’s net worth sits at a staggering £175million. According to Forbes, Joshua was worth £62.8m in May 2024.
Back in 2019, Joshua earned a career-best purse of £66million when he reclaimed his WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF belts from Andy Ruiz Jr. Earlier this year, Joshua is claimed to have pocketed £31million after defeating Francis Ngannou.
However, his fortune does not just come from the ring, having built a brand since his early days in the professional ranks. He has also been backed by a number of blue-chip sponsors.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously said: “Tyson Fury’s made a lot of money the last three, four, five years but AJ has been at it for the last decade – big pay-per-views, huge site fees. He’s also the first fighter that’s had the massive commercial deals.
“UnderArmour, Beats, Lucozade, they’re big, big brands getting behind him. That’s why I respect AJ so much, because he wants it more now, and he works harder now than he’s ever worked in the sport And he’s in the back end of his career.”
After Saturday night’s fight, however, his net worth could hit £200m.
Despite his mega net worth, Joshua has been said to live, as his mantra says, a humble life
Does Joshua have a girlfriend?
Despite being a popular sport figure, Joshua seems to be in no hurry to settle down. However, he has been linked with numerous women including models Cara Delevingne and Bella Hadid.
Still living with his mother at 34, the fighter has denied these rumours. When asked if he had a girlfriend in an interview with BBC’s Louis Theroux last year, Joshua responded: “No, I don’t.”
On whether he would admit it if he did have a girlfriend, the boxer added: “Yeah, definitely. Imagine me going home to my missus now and she said, ‘You denied me!’, I don’t want the stress.”
He also stated he hadn’t been with ‘any of those girls’, when specifically questioned about Delevingne and Hadid.
When asked how he meets women, he revealed: “The honest answer is I don’t really date. My last date was in the boxing gym… with boxing, I am married to boxing really. I don’t really do dates, I am not really interested in it.
“I am much more in to just being in relaxed situations and developing friendships. I don’t think my schedule plays any part in really I just don’t put pressure on situations. In terms of kids, I guess it is down to the individual circumstances.
“I still live with my mum. In our culture, we grew up in our family home, we support our parents. Why am I going to move out and leave my mum by herself, for some girl? Family is the most important thing. When a girl gets with me, she ain’t just marrying me, she’s marrying my family.”
“I still live with my mum.” – Anthony Joshua said.

Personal life
Joshua has an eight year old son from a previous relationship with school friend Nicole Osbourne. He became a father to Joseph Joshua (JJ) in 2015.
Previously speaking about the relationship with his son, Joshua said: “He’s seven, he’s gonna be eight this year, so he’s definitely aware. I don’t think he cares! That’s the thing: I don’t think he has an interest like that. He obviously knows boxing; him and his cousins, they box now and again.
“I don’t think he’s at that age where… It’s interesting, right: I always look out when I’m in camp, and I see people going about their business. Boxing is so important in our lives, but it’s not important in everybody’s lives. I want my son to be the best man that he can be, but I don’t want him to be compared to me.”
“He’s like me, though; when I lost, that’s how he is when he loses – we’re bad losers,” Anthony admitted. “Honestly he throws a big tantrum, but I like seeing that side of him, because it means he cares.”
