September is certainly a monumental month for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The singer and the NFL star, both 34, have had milestone career moments take place during the month – like the launch of Travis’ podcast and the release of Taylor’s beloved single Love Story all those years ago.
It’s also the month that the pair confirmed their highly-publicized romance with the world – when the Cruel Summer songstress attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game on September 24, 2023.
But now, it may also become the month that their relationship comes to an end, as an alleged ‘contract’ recently spread around the web that claimed Taylor and Travis were going to announce a split on September 28, 2024.
The document outlined a detailed plan to release an official statement regarding their breakup at the end of the month, and was written by what appeared to be the athlete’s PR company.
Travis’ team has since branded the contract – which was first posted on Reddit – as ‘entirely false and fabricated,’ and claimed that they had brought in lawyers to try to find whoever created the ‘unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.’
But if the couple did end their relationship on the 28th, it wouldn’t be the first major event that happened to them during the month of September.
While the exact date that they got together is unknown, rumors of their romance first emerged on September 12, 2023, when The Messenger reported that they were ‘quietly hanging out.’
Nearly two weeks later, on September 24, 2023, the popstar was spotted cheering on the Chiefs tight end from the VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium alongside his mom, Donna, confirming that they were indeed an item.
After that, they became inseparable; she was photographed at many more of his games, they were caught holding hands on numerous date nights, and he jetted off to see her perform on more than one occasion once her tour resumed soon after.
Furthermore Taylor dropped her now-mega hits Our Song and Love Story in September 2008 and September 2009 respectively, while Travis launched his extremely popular New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason, in September 2022.
It’s also rumored that the singer’s relationship with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn began on September 28, 2016.
While speculation that she and the British actor were dating didn’t emerge until months later – in June 2017 when they were photographed together for the first time – many of her fans believe their romance kicked off on September 28 after she changed the lyrics to a song she covered to include the date.
In 2018, Taylor released a rendition of the Earth, Wind & Fire song September and switched the line ‘Do you remember the 21st night of September?’ to ‘Do you remember the 28th night of September?’
At the time, many social media users assumed that must be the day she and Joe got together.
While she’s certainly had a lot of happy times in September, Taylor’s also endured some heartbreak during the month.
Back in September 2009, the hitmaker received her first ever VMA for her song You Belong With Me.
But as she took to the stage to accept the award, rapper Kanye West interrupted her speech, grabbed the microphone from her, and told the audience that he believed Beyoncé deserved it more.
The now infamous moment sparked a years-long feud between Taylor and Kanye that would later see his now-ex-wife Kim Kardashian get involved and launch her own blistering attack against Taylor.
The incident and its ripple affects had a long-lasting impact on Taylor, as she later said that the aftermath of her fight with Kim ‘took her down psychologically to a place she had never been before.’
Reports emerged this week about the alleged leaked document, which was written on the headed paper of Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, and proposes that Taylor and Travis release a statement on September 28 confirming their split.
It adds that the announcement should be ‘gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect’ and would focus on Travis’ ‘personal growth.’
After it spread online, a spokesman for Full Scope insisted that it was ‘entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency.’
The representative also said they have called in lawyers – though they are not expected to find the culprit.
‘We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,’ they said.
Travis is set to have a busy September as football season officially kicks back off on Thursday.
He has home games on September 5 and 15 followed by one on September 22 in Atlanta and one on September 29 in Los Angeles.
As for Taylor, she has a rare break in her schedule after wrapping up the European leg of her Eras Tour on August 20.
She’s set to resume the tour in Miami, Florida, on October 18, but until then, she doesn’t have any official plans.
It’s rumored that she will attended the MTV VMAs on September 11 in New York City, as she’s nominated for 12 different awards.
Many of her fans have speculated that she’s going to make a surprise announcement at the event for the re-recording of her album Reputation, but as of now, that’s just a rumor.
A source told DailyMail.com following the alleged contract that Taylor and Travis are unfazed, and are in fact are planning something ‘super special’ on the date it listed as their ‘split.’
‘Taylor was unbothered and quite amused by this,’ the insider. ‘She usually pays these things no mind at all, but this was some hilarious AI realness.
‘It isn’t even worth an actual reaction from her or her team. She and Travis had a good laugh over it and his camp only got lawyers involved because it is his PR firm listed on the document.
‘After learning that their “breakup date” is coming up so soon – September 28 – they now need to plan something super special and fun on that day to commemorate.
‘Coincidentally, September 28 is around the first NFL game of the season and is also National Beer Drinking Day – so that makes a good date night for sure.’
