Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly facing a challenge as Princess Kate and Prince William prepare to make a significant move in the U.S. The Prince and Princess of Wales are revitalizing plans for their charitable foundation in America, focusing on mental health initiatives.
According to The Mail, the royal couple has registered the foundation’s brand with American trademark authorities and began working on the initiative towards the end of their summer holidays. This ambitious move suggests that Kate, 42, is “on the road to recovery” from cancer and is gearing up for a return to “light duties” after completing chemotherapy.
While there are no immediate plans for a trip to the U.S.—where Prince Harry and Meghan reside in California—the prospect of their visit raises eyebrows. The couple last traveled to the U.S. in 2022 for William’s environmental project, The Earthshot Prize.
Kate recently demonstrated her commitment to charity work, holding her first private meeting since completing treatment, which focused on her Early Years initiative aimed at nurturing children under five. Her only other public engagements this year included attending Trooping the Colour and presenting the men’s trophy at Wimbledon.
Last year, the Royal Foundation applied for a U.S. trademark centered on mental health projects, but progress stalled following Kate’s cancer diagnosis. Now, a U.S. lawyer representing Kensington Palace has re-energized these proposals, shifting the focus from illegal wildlife trade to “campaigning” and “fundraising” linked to mental health initiatives.
