Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds never shy away from gushing — and joking — over parenthood.
The “Deadpool & Wolverine” star recently shared insight into their family’s sleeping arrangement and how crowded it can get.
The actor revealed during the July 20 episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat“ podcast that he and Lively “embrace the chaos” in their household.
“Nothing’s ever going to be tidy again,” he said about having four young kids, before adding, “Yes it will, when they all leave the house, right? When they’re all gone. My wife always says, ‘They’re all under our roof. The whole family is under one roof. We have them all and that is a fleeting thing.’”
He continued that while they’re all under one roof, they’re also in one bed.
“We can’t even go to sleep unless they’re in our bed,” he said, before touching on how precious the family time actually is.
“As much as I want to say, I would love to spread out and fall asleep normally again,” he said, his mindset is, “If you can just think about what you would give in 40 years or 30 years to come back and enjoy this one moment.’”

Reynolds has been sharing more of his and Lively’s family-of-six life. At the premiere of “Deadpool & Wolverine” on July 22, the movie star appeared to reveal the name of his youngest child with Lively — Olin.
Previously, TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb attempted to give a hint at 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 No. 4’s name while Reynolds made an appearance on May 13.
Earlier in July, Lively joked that her husband was “trying to get me pregnant again” after he posted a video of him holding co-star “Dogpool,” Peggy. While talking to E! News ahead of the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Reynolds joked that he wouldn’t mind expanding their family.
“The more the merrier,” he said alongside co-star Hugh Jackman. “As many as possible. As many little heartbeats as possible, just running around, wrecking stuff in the house. I love it. Let’s have more!”
Meanwhile, the “It Ends With Us” star and the “Deadpool” actor value their children’s privacy so much that few photos of the kids have ever been made public (outside of Reynolds’ 2016 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony).
Their pal Taylor Swift might have let slip a detail about the kids on July 25 when she referred to Reynolds as her “godkids’ sperm donor” in a funny message about his film “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Godmother Taylor, anyone?
Still, Lively and Reynolds have said just enough over the years to piece together a mini-family biography for curious fans. Read on to learn all we know about their children: James, Inez, Betty and Olin, the newest addition to their party of six.
The actor dodged the question with a witty response, saying, “We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name will be. “We’ll say this. We’re still waiting, so Taylor, let’s maybe start.”
During that same interview, Reynolds also touched on parenting his four children while Lively was away.
“You know, single dad. I’m a Reba McEntire song. Single dad, doing it all. Yeah, just doing it for them, right?” he said, before jokingly adding, “(I) took them all to the park. Told them Mommy left when they were young. Surprisingly, you get a lot of action that way.”
The comedy continued as he had Hoda and Savannah laughing, adding, “No, we had a good time. No one died, which was nice.”
On July 22 at the premiere of Reynolds’ movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Reynolds appeared to reveal the name of his and Lively’s fourth child.
“I want to thank my kids, James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here,” he said. “I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life.”
On July 26, he revealed in a promotional video that his fourth child is a boy. In the clip, he spoke with a man named John Bell whose son Jake, a fan of Deadpool, died.
After listening to the man’s story, Reynolds said, “I want to share with you that I, too, have a son. Boy, John, if I love him one-tenth as much as you love Jake, I feel like I’ve done a pretty damn good job.”
