Just one week after Britney Spears, another pop princess, appeared to disparage Sabrina Carpenter and Christina Aguilera’s 2024 MTV VMAs performance, the two revealed a new project on TikTok on Wednesday.

Carpenter referred to Aguilera as her “mom” and that she was “obsessed” with her in the little video that Aguilera posted. Carpenter utilized an audio clip from an episode of “The Kardashians.”

Carpenter lip-synced, mimicking Kylie Jenner’s description of her bond with her well-known mother, Kris, saying, “I’m obsessed with my mom.” The voice keeps playing, “I am her favorite.” We truly get along like she doesn’t have any other children.

Reposting the video to her Instagram Stories, the “Taste” singer said, “I don’t think you understand, I’m obsessed.”

The 25-year-old singer will be joining Aguilera in a special “Spotify Anniversaries” episode as she commemorates the 25 years of her self-titled debut album.

The episode, which will feature MGK as well, is slated for release on September 25.

Aguilera told Rolling Stone, “I wanted to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my debut album in a way that brings together the past and present.”

Using an audio clip from an episode of “The Kardshians,” the “Espresso” singer referred to Aguilera as her “mom” saying she’s “obsessed” with her.

”I’ve always enjoyed reimagining my songs with different styles and audiences, as well as playing with sounds and arrangements that showcase how all music can be timeless.”

In an August interview with Paper Magazine, Carpenter revealed she’s been a longtime fan of the singer, calling her “one of my very first idols and icons.”

“I was 11 years old and you couldn’t get her name out of my mouth,” she told the outlet. “She’s very special to me. Those songs raised me.”

Spears, who was formerly well-known for her years-long rivalry with the singer of “Genie in a Bottle,” made fun of Carpenter’s great performance at the Video Music Awards last week when she kissed an extraterrestrial backup dancer on stage.

“Why didn’t she kiss a girl?,” the Grammy winner—who famously shared a kiss with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs—asked after stating, “I didn’t understand that part.” That was strange.

In the Instagram video, Spears did admit, though, that she “adores” the former “Girl Meets World” cast member and loves her “to death.”
