Miley Cyrus was sued for copyright infringement after allegedly imitating Bruno Mars in the making of her Grammy-winning hit “Flowers.” According to paperwork acquired by TMZ, Tempo Music Investments says Cyrus’ 2023 breakthrough single has “many musical similarities” to Mars’ 2012 ballad “When I Was Your Man.” The investing platform, which claims to own a portion of the copyright for Mars’ music, claims that the chorus, harmony, melody, chord progressions, and lyrics of “Flowers” were “intentionally” lifted from the “24K Magic” hitmaker’s song.

Reps for Mars, 38, and Cyrus, 31, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Earlier this year, the “Malibu” songstress received her first Grammys after “Flowers” won record of the year and best pop solo performance over Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.
“This award is amazing, but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday,” Cyrus said during her record of the year acceptance speech.
“Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular, so please don’t think that this is important.”

The two-time Grammy winner is rumored to have written the song about her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, whom she was married to from 2018 to 2020.
Cyrus, who has been in the music industry for decades, later questioned why it took so long to earn recognition from the Recording Academy.
“No shade, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?” she said in an interview with W Magazine in June.
“I’ve had a hard time figuring out what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk stats and numbers, then where the f–k was I? And if you want to talk, like, impact on culture, then where the f–k was I?”

However, the pop star underlined that this is not about arrogance. I’m proud of myself.
Cyrus began her career in the industry at the age of 12, appearing on Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” between 2006 and 2011.
The artist then dominated the charts with tunes like “Party in the U.S.A.” and “Wrecking Ball.”
