The couple will celebrate their 12th anniversary on Sept. 9
The couple that matches outfits together, stays together.
Such is true for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who stepped out on Sept. 5 in New York City wearing outfits that were the epitome of his and hers.
Both wore outfits with multiple shades of blue. Lively rocked a pair of loose-fit jeans with a soft blue blazer and white shirt under it. Reynolds went for a pair of navy trousers with a blue-gray jacket with his own white shirt under it. Lively opted for casual Nike sneakers, while Reynolds wore brown boots. Both wore matching sunglasses.
The couple’s outing comes just days before their 12th wedding anniversary. The got married on Sept. 9, 2012, after meeting in 2010. They got married at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, S.C., which Reynolds publicly apologized for in 2020.
“It’s something we’ll always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for,” Reynolds said during an interview with Fast Company. “It’s impossible to reconcile. What we saw at the time was a wedding venue on Pinterest. What we saw after was a place built upon devastating tragedy. Years ago, we got married again at home — but shame works in weird ways. A giant f—— mistake like that can either cause you to shut down, or it can reframe things and move you into action.”
In their decade-plus relationship, Lively and Reynolds have had plenty — and we mean plenty — of stylish moments together. Every time they hit a red carpet, it’s a show-stopping affair. Just this summer, both of them were promoting movies — Lively with It Ends with Us and Reynolds with Deadpool & Wolverine — which gave them plenty of opportunities to dress to the nines, which they did.
Throughout all of Lively’s It Ends with Us promo, she rocked a number of floral outfits, channeling her character Lily Bloom, who owns a flower shop. Whether it was a pair of $19,000 floral jeans to for a surprise screening of the movie or Britney Spears’ actual Versace dress to the movie’s premiere, there was a floral for every occasion. For that premiere, Reynolds got all spiffed up by her side, wearing an olive green suit with his own floral accent on the lapel.
