An undisputed world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is being planned for Saudi Arabia on the same weekend as the World Cup final in Qatar, according to reports
Tyson Fury is reportedly set to come out of retirement to face Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia on the night before the World Cup final in Qatar.
The pair appear to be on a collision course after Usyk dispatched of Anthony Joshua in their rematch in Jeddah on Saturday (August 20). Their teams are in talks for an undisputed world heavyweight title fight held once again in the gulf state on December 17, according to the Daily Mail.

That would place even more eyes on the Middle East, with the 2022 World Cup concluding the following night in neighbouring Qatar. Saudi minister for sport Prince Mohammad Abdulaziz confirmed: “We are very interested in the fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. We are looking to do that in the city of Riyadh.”
IBF, WBA (super), WBO and Ring magazine heavyweight champion Usyk called Fury out after beating AJ for the second time with a split-decision victory. “I’m sure that Tyson Fury is not retired yet,” he said in the ring.
“I’m sure, I’m convinced he wants to fight me. I want to fight him and if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all.”
Although he’s repeatedly insisted he’s walking away from the sport, The Gyspy King said in a video posted to social media: “Be honest with you guys, after watching that, both of them were s****. It was one of the worst heavyweight title fights I have ever seen. It was b*******.

“Come on! I would annihilate both of them on the same night, f****** s****! Get your f****** checkbook out, because the Gypsy King is here to stay forever!”
In a now-deleted Instagram video, Fury went on to say: “I’ve just seen Joshua lose for the second time to Usyk – out of his depth. However, England has been relieved of its belts.
“Yet again, as usual. There is a remedy and a solution that I can suggest. If you want those belts back then send in the Gypsy barbarian of England. Come on!

“Send me in. I will relieve the Ukrainian dosser of his belts like I did the last Ukrainian dosser but it’s not gonna be cheap. If you want the best you’ve got to pay, it’s gonna be very expensive. So get your f****** cheque book out and I will relieve that Ukrainian dosser.”
The WBC are said to have given Fury until Friday to un-retire before they will vacate his belt. But it seems the lure of a mega pay-day will prevent that happening, with the fight purse expected to be even bigger than Joshua vs Usyk II.
