Brittany Cartwright headed out for a night on the town after filing for divorce from Jax Taylor.
The reality TV personality, 35, slipped into a figure-hugging, periwinkle blue dress with black pumps and a matching shoulder bag to go out and meet her friends in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, her estranged husband is ‘feeling mixed emotions’ about her finally filing for divorce.
The OG Vanderpump Rules star reportedly ‘knows this is ultimately the right decision but is sad that things ended up the way they have,’ a source told People on the same day.
The insider added that Taylor has had a difficult past few weeks amid their marriage turmoil.
‘It’s been an emotional month for him, and he’s trying to stay strong for his son,’ the source said.
Taylor, born Jason Cauchi, and Cartwright have been married for five years and share three-year-old son Cruz.
The Valley reality stars previously tied the knot in Cartwright’s native Kentucky on June 29, 2019 and welcomed their son two years later.
Earlier this year, however, the couple decided to take some ‘time apart.’
Nearly six months later, Cartwright filed for divorce, and a source added that her decision to legally separate from Taylor was a ‘long time coming.’
Cartwright, who requested primary custody of their son, believed divorcing him was something she ‘had to do for the best interest of herself and her son.’
The source also added that Cartwright eventually filed ‘in order to move forward and put a stop to this tumultuous cycle they’ve been living in.’
‘There’s a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past,’ the insider continued.

‘This decision wasn’t made lightly but she feels adamant that it was the right one,’ the source added.
Earlier in the day, it was revealed that Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor.
She was seemingly celebrating the occasion as she had alcohol delivered to the Los Angeles Airbnb she’s been staying at since announcing she and Taylor had separated in February.
Wearing a white towel over a blue bathing suit, Cartwright came to her front door to collect a glass bottle in a black plastic bag from an Uber Eats delivery person.
Missing from her left hand was her wedding ring, which she has not worn publicly since June.
Cartwright flashed a smile as the delivery person checked her ID before driving away from her residence.

The makeup-free reality TV star appeared to be enjoying a boozy pool day just hours after her shock divorce filing.
After the news broke, Cartwright broke her silence by sharing a 𝓈ℯ𝓍y selfie to Instagram with a pointed message suggesting she’s moved on from her marriage to Taylor.
The star wore hot pink and sported a glamorous make-up look in the snap captioned: ‘Getting my sparkle back.’
Cartwright cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for ending the marriage.
DailyMail.com has contacted a representative for Cartwright and NBCUniversal, Bravo’s parent company, for comment.
The couple, who wed in a lavish wedding that aired on Vanderpump Rules, have a three-year-old son Cruz together.
Cartwright has requested primary legal and physical custody over the child however is open to visitation for her ex.
Additionally, Cartwright is seeking to block the ability of the court to award either one of them with spousal support.
Cartwright cited their date of separation as January 24.
The filing comes days after Taylor left a mental health facility. A rep for Taylor previously told Us Weekly he was set to depart last week.
Cartwright and Taylor wed in 2019 but separated this past February.
The couple’s early romance was chronicled on the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules and the breakdown of their marriage was captured on the spin-off, The Valley, with Cartwright revealing she had moved out their marital residence with son Cruz.
‘A lot has happened with me and Jax,’ Cartwright said in a confessional. ‘We were already having issues all summer long, but once the cameras stopped rolling, things just seemed like they were getting worse and worse and worse.
‘So about six weeks ago, I separated from Jax. I moved into an AirBnb with Cruz because Jax would not leave the house,’ she said on the finale.
Cartwright said that Taylor not moving out showed his selfishness.
She added that she left with their three-year-old son Cruz because the situation at home was toxic.
Cartwright also said Jax would come with a hangover and in the morning would be ‘mean as a snake.’
‘I just hit this point where I just started noticing everything that he did to me,’ Cartwright said. ‘It just hit me like a ton of bricks.’
She said during their relationship that Taylor cheated on her, disrespected her and humiliated her.
‘I have been through a lot of pain in this relationship,’ Cartwright said. ‘I just can’t deal with it anymore.’
Following their separation, Cartwright revealed the real reason why they split and told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview that they had issues in their marriage for years.
She explained how the birth of their first child Cruz in 2021 made her reevaluate her marriage to the controversial Vanderpump Rules villain.

‘So for me, it was just kind of like taking up for myself. Having a child really woke me up and lifted a veil a little bit of what I deserve and what I am going to put up with for the rest of my life,’ she said.
‘And I just knew that I had to … figure out what I want to do for my future and make things a super positive living situation for my son. That’s all that I care about.’
Cartwright also shared in April that her ‘𝓈ℯ𝓍less marriage’ with Taylor made her hit her ‘breaking point’ and admitted they’ve discussed dating other people amid separation, saying ‘I don’t want to be unhappy for the rest of my life.’
In an interview with Us Weekly, the Vanderpump Rules alum said that her and Taylor’s 𝓈ℯ𝓍 life had ‘dwindled so much’ in recent years and that it began to affect her self esteem.
‘I felt like I wasn’t good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn’t want you and they’re also being mean to you, it’s like, ‘What am I doing here?’ I’m basically living with a roommate. I hit my breaking point,’ she explained.
When she tried to speak to Taylor about their lack of 𝓈ℯ𝓍, Cartwright claimed that he would tell her was ’44 and I’m tired’ — an answer that didn’t suffice for her.
Cartwright also admitted that the couple came under financial strain when they were fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 – which contributed to fractures in their marriage.
‘It was definitely a difficult time in our relationship,’ she confessed.
As per court docs, Cartwright has requested primary legal and physical custody over the couple’s three-year-old son but she is open to visitation for her ex. Additionally, Cartwright is seeking to block the ability of the court to award either one of them with spousal support
‘It kind of shifted gears where I became the breadwinner because I was still working, I was doing commercials and different brand deals,’ she continued.
‘I was super lucky to have all that happen for me, but Jax wasn’t having the same stuff happening for him. So it was a big shift in our relationship that kind of took a toll for a while.’
Last month on an episode of his and Cartwright’s When Reality Hits podcast, Taylor revealed that they were still ‘trying to exhaust everything’ before considering divorcing.
‘I am not — I repeat not — dating anybody. I was seen out with someone and it was strictly lunch. Obviously, Brittany and I are separated and have been for a long time. What we are going through right now is tough. Marriage is not easy,’ he explained.
The bar owner continued: ‘We are trying to figure out a lot of different things: therapy, separation, and maybe, possibly, dating other people.’
‘We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road — if that would be the case,’ he told listeners. ‘Part of taking some time apart means exploring other people. All marriages are different, but this is what is good for our marriage.’
Cartwright previously reconciled with Taylor in 2017 after it was revealed that he had cheated on her with their costar Faith Stowers.
She said she ‘stuck by him’ through their tumultuous times but said continuous fighting in front of their young son was the final straw for her to break away.
