After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down, we learned that the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) were never close like many royal watchers had once thought. In fact, when the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es began airing out the royal family’s dirty laundry, Kate’s name was brought up.
In a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed Kate made her cry during a bridesmaid dress fitting. Prince Harry then discussed that incident and detailed some others that led to the ladies’ frosty relationship. Moreover, in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the former Suits star took a dig at her sister-in-law claiming that she was not a “hugger.”
Insiders have insisted that Kate was hurt by what the couple had said about her, especially since they knew she couldn’t publicly debunk their claims herself. Then in March 2024, the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis and that she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy. Now, a royal expert is saying that has made Kate rethink her priorities and she no longer has to care about or “fear” any “drama” coming out of Montecito.
Kate’s priorities have changed, she’s no longer ‘concerned’ with the Harry and Meghan circus

Royal commentator and former BBC correspondent Jennie Bond spoke to OK! about how she believes Kate is focusing her energy on what matters to her the most amid her health battle, not Meghan and Harry’s unwanted drama.
“I’m sure cancer has made Catherine take a look at her life and her priorities. And I think those priorities are firmly with her family, her husband, and her children,” Bond told the publication. “As far as William and Catherine are concerned, Harry and Meghan are irrelevant to them, their family, and to the future of their lives.
“But there hasn’t really been any renewed drama coming from California since her cancer diagnosis, so I don’t think there’s been anything in particular for William to feel he has to shield Catherine from. William and Catherine are a tight and strong unit. I don’t think they have anything more to fear from Harry and Meghan.”
