Luke Bryan Shares the Bucket List Trip His Kids Want to Go On: ‘It’s All About Including the Family’

“I’ve done a really, really great job of brainwashing [my] children into doing exactly what I like to do,” the country singer teased

Luke Bryan already has an idea for his family’s next vacation.

While appearing on Audacy’s Rob + Holly podcast, the country singer, 47, chatted with hosts Rob Stone and Holly Hutton about how his family wants to follow in his footsteps and recreate a trip together that Bryan previously took by himself.

“I’ve done an Amazon peacock bass fishing trip. My children know that I’ve done it, and they want to go do it,” the musician said.

“It’s all about including the family on these things too. I’ve got a lot of crazy little things that we’ll try to check off the list as a family. I’ve done a really, really great job of brainwashing [my] children into doing exactly what I like to do.”

Bryan is dad to sons Bo, 15, and Tatum “Tate” Christopher, 13, with wife Caroline.

In December, the American Idol judge appeared on Audacy’s Katie & Company and opened up about his older son’s progress behind the wheel, sharing, “He’s finally got it going.”

“He’s grown up on the farm driving side-by-sides and stuff like that,” the dad explained. “I just assumed that it would translate to being on the highway. It did not. But, hey, we got him rockin’ and rollin’, and now we’re just trying to figure out what will be the first vehicle in his life.”

“He tried to pick it out. We realized real quick, ‘You’re not getting that.’ He wants a big truck and we’re going to get him something but we’re not getting him what he wants, let’s say that.”

In 2021, Bryan chatted with PEOPLE about how his relationship with his two boys has enhanced as the years go by. The singer said he enjoyed getting to share his hobbies with his sons, revealing that “As they grow older, it’s easier to let them tag along.”

“They become little men and they become functional little microcosms of me. Their personalities are really different,” he continued. “… They become your buddies. I mean, they’re still your kids, you still have to do the discipline and you still have to teach them the right and wrongs of life, but they really morph into your buddies.”

“And I’m certainly in the golden years,” Bryan added. “I mean, it’s like the sweet spot of being a dad right now and you can let them tag along.”
