Brittany Cartwright has been hit with a $35k state tax lien on the home she previously shared with estranged husband Jax Taylor.

Documents obtained by DailyMail.com reveal a state tax lien has been placed on the couple’s $1.9 million Valley Village home by the California Franchise Tax Board.

The lien on the home — located in Los Angeles‘ sprawling San Fernando Valley — was filed on June 12, 2024 in the amount of $35,239.88.

The Vanderpump Rules alum, 35, is still living in an Airbnb, following her separation from Jax after nearly five years of marriage, but in April she shared that she still pays ‘all the bills’ at home while Jax, 45, ‘pays the mortgage.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Cartwright’s representatives who declined to comment.

The documents state that ‘further interest and fees will accrue’ until the lien is paid.

The Valley cast members — who share three-year-old son Cruz — moved into the 3,765-square-foot five-bedroom home in May of 2019, right before their June wedding.

At the time the reality star shared a snap in front of their house, writing, ‘I am feeling SO blessed! We have so much to look forward to. We are moving into our first home together this week, we are getting married in less than 2 months, and we start filming season 8!!’

The home is located not too far from co-stars, Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney and Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, who also have properties in the same area.

Brittany and Jax announced in late February that they were taking some time apart.

In April, Brittany said she’s ‘still living in an Airbnb’ during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

That same month she also shared on the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast that she’s still paying the bills in their home, even though she ‘put down as much money’ as Jax to buy the property.

She also said she was paying for Cruz’s school stuff, insurance, and for their car.

‘Jax pays the mortgage. I pay all the bills,’ she said, adding, ‘We have everything split up.’

She admitted Jax has suggested she ‘move back in the house and live in the main bedroom and him live in the guest room’, though she was not keen on the idea.

‘I’m like, “That’s not happening.” I’ll just keep spending a s**t ton of money on Airbnbs until we figure out what we’re gonna do.’

On Monday Jax told TMZ that misses his family ‘a lot.’ When asked if he would call himself single, he replied, ‘Britanny and I are separated, and we’re just trying to figure it out. I don’t know what you want to call it.’

He then stated that he is not ‘dating’ at this time. When asked if he was hoping for a reconciliation he said, ‘I don’t know.’

Following their separation in February, Brittany revealed the real reason why they split and told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview that they had issues in their marriage for years.

She explained how the birth of their first child Cruz in 2021 made her reevaluate her marriage to the controversial Vanderpump Rules villain.

‘So for me, it was just kind of like taking up for myself. Having a child really woke me up and lifted a veil a little bit of what I deserve and what I am going to put up with for the rest of my life,’ she said.

‘And I just knew that I had to … figure out what I want to do for my future and make things a super positive living situation for my son. That’s all that I care about.’

Brittany also admitted that the couple came under financial strain when they were fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 – which contributed to fractures in their marriage.

‘It was definitely a difficult time in our relationship,’ she confessed.

‘It kind of shifted gears where I became the breadwinner because I was still working, I was doing commercials and different brand deals,’ she continued.

‘I was super lucky to have all that happen for me, but Jax wasn’t having the same stuff happening for him. So it was a big shift in our relationship that kind of took a toll for a while.’

Brittany landed a lucrative endorsement deal with weight loss company Jenny Craig in 2022 that was worth a a rumored $2million.

The Kentucky-born waitress also had a huge clothing collaboration with fast fashion retailer Cupshe.

Brittany previously reconciled with Jax in 2017 after it was revealed that he had cheated on her with their costar Faith Stowers.

She said she ‘stuck by him’ through their tumultuous times but said continuous fighting in front of their young son was the final straw for her to break away.
