Anthony Joshua chased by shocked school kids through the streets of London as world heavyweight boxer undertakes some cardio work

World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua made the day of some rather unsuspected school kids while working on his cardio training this week.

The 28-year-old was out cycling through the streets of London when a group of youths realised their idol just happened to be cruising past on two wheels.

The cluster of youngsters soon recognised the huge, muscular frame of Joshua passing them by, and quickly made off on foot to chase the boxing sensation.

The youngsters tried their best to keep up as a focused Joshua continued on his route

Screaming Joshua’s name, the youngsters remained hopeful the Watford-born hitman would make a quick pit-stop.

Joshua, with headphones on, was firmly in the zone and unable to break from his routine.

Later taking to social media, Joshua sent out an apology to the hopeful youngsters for not being able to make a stop off.

The unfolding events were all captured by a member of Joshua’s entourage, who was cycling behind the champion while filming.

The footage was later uploaded to Joshua’s personal Instagram account, for his 6.5million follows to view online.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently revealed the next two fights for the British sensation are almost completely tied up.

Alexander Povetkin looks increasingly likely to be his next opponent and Deontay Wilder is to sign up for a blockbuster bout in early 2019.

A fight with Wilder, the WBC champion, has long been the preferred choice for September but those plans are set to be put back as US broadcasters do not want a clash with Canelo Alvarez’s comeback fight following his drugs ban.

WBC champion Povetkin could face Joshua either late this year or early next year

‘I believe we will get a deal done with Deontay quite soon. We are close on that. Ideally AJ and us wanted September in the UK but that isn’t working for them,’ said Hearn.

‘There is a chance we could make that fight in October or November, if it was to be AJ’s next fight, or we could do it in February or March if he fights Povetkin next.

‘Either way, I think we are close to a deal. It could well be that AJ fights Povetkin in September and after that it would be Wilder in February or March. He will fight Wilder in his next two fights.’
