As they approach their fourth month of being apart, Jax Taylor is providing fresh insight into his split from Brittany Cartwright, particularly regarding their current residence.
On the May 31 episode of his and Brittany’s When Reality Hits podcast, the cast member of The Valley clarified, saying, “I know I said we would never, ever leave each other, but it got to the point where she had to go.”
And when Jax said “go,” he meant from their shared house in San Fernando Valley. He went on, “Everyone’s like, ‘Well, how come you didn’t leave?'” “Yeah, but, I do pay my house’s mortgage now. I was unable to pay the mortgage and, possibly, two other locations. That’s beyond my means. An apartment and a mortgage are beyond my means.”
In other words, Jax has stayed in his and Brittany’s home.
Where is Brittany Cartwright living amid her split from Jax Taylor?
Noting that Brittany “does really well for herself,” Jax said she “got a place down the street” from their home. He did not clarify if this was the same Airbnb Brittany was previously staying in.
Regardless, “We’re both close to our kid’s school,” he said of their 3-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi. “And it’s going to be okay.”
At the same time, “I wanted her to stay,” Jax added. “I know it wasn’t going well, and I know we have a son to think about, but it never got to the point where we’re yelling in front of our son. And our house is big enough to where you can live on two sides of the house.”
Why did Brittany Cartwright move out of her and Jax Taylor’s house?
Providing context for Brittany’s decision to move, Jax explained that while they were still living together, “It got to the point where it’s like, we would start arguing about the dump. Like if I left the cupboard open, it would spiral into something else. If I left the door open or if I didn’t make the bed, like those kinds of things, we’re starting to set each other off because we’re so angry about other things.”
Regardless of the fact that they’re living apart, Jax insisted that he and Brittany remain in close contact. “We still have to raise our son,” he said. “I just got off the phone with Brittany an hour ago. We’re still talking.”
