Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has been one of the most talked about women in the WNBA since being drafted No. 7 overall in April’s draft.
Alongside her rival Caitlin Clark, Reese, who already possessed a large fan base coming out of LSU, has seen her following skyrocket since entering the league. However, with such a large following comes its downsides. This week, it got to the point that internet trolls have begun fabricating fake accounts in her name. These accounts are allegedly reaching out to her fans, who are unsuspectingly engaging with these imposters.
On Friday, Reese exposed these fake social media accounts.
“yall i don’t have a facebook so anybody messaging you isn’t me lmaooo,” Reese said on her official social media account.
Reese has lived up to the high expectations at the start of her professional career, validating the widespread recognition she received. Reese has recorded a double-double in nine consecutive games, breaking the WNBA rookie record.
Reese made a name for herself in college with the LSU Tigers. She gained a national spotlight when LSU went up against Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship. Since then, she’s only grown in popularity, signing signficant endorsement deals and helping bring the WNBA to a massive growth in popularity.
