50 Cent has shared his reaction to New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s wild claim that some Black kids growing up in the Bronx don’t know what a computer is.

In a since-deleted post on Instagram on Wednesday (May 8), the G-Unit boss commented on Hochul’s controversial statement, which she made while at a conference in California earlier this week focused on bringing economic opportunities in artificial intelligence to low-income communities.

“Right now, we have young Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word computer is. They don’t know, they don’t know these things,” Hochul said.

50 responded with bewilderment, writing: “[sad face emoji] I don’t know, any black kids that don’t know what a computer is in the Bronx. [shrugging emoji].”

The 48-year-old then joked: “WTF They know how to work a iPad better than me. [surprised emoji].”

Hochul has since retracted her remarks and expressed regret.

“I misspoke and I regret it,” she said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are — the problem is that they too often lack access to the technology needed to get on track to high-paying jobs in emerging industries like AI.

“That’s why I’ve been focused on increasing economic opportunity since Day One of my Administration, and will continue that fight to ensure every New Yorker has a shot at a good-paying job.”

This isn’t the first time that 50 Cent has inserted himself into New York politics of late.

In February, the Power mogul reiterated his support for Donald Trump while blasting New York City Mayor Eric Adams for his proposed program of handing out pre-paid debit cards to migrants.

In an Instagram post, Fif raged out about the program which is a temporary salvo until migrants are issued their paperwork that would allow them to get a full-time job.

“WTF mayor Adams call my phone, I don’t understand how this works — somebody explain,” he wrote. “Can’t explain this I’m stuck maybe TRUMP is the answer.”

Back in October 2020, 50 infuriated a large percentage of his fanbase when he encouraged his 26.2 million Instagram followers to “vote for Trump.”

The rapper was disgruntled by Joe Biden’s proposed tax plan, which included a 62 percent top tax rate for New York and New Jersey residents.
