Jeremy Renner opened up about his near-fatal snowplow accident in a shirtless photo, recalling his skull ‘cracking’.

The 53-year-old The Avengers star, who is slated to join the cast of Knives Out 3, opened up about the horrifying incident in which he was driven over by a 14,300-lb. snowplow on January 1, 2023, in Reno, Nevada.

In a recent cover article for Men’s Health, he stated, “It undulates, because there are four sections of tires with these metal tracks—it pulls it like a tank.” I recall every undulation.

Jeremy Renner has recalled his near-fatal horror snowplow accident, revealing he remembers his skull ‘breaking’.

‘I remember my head cracking on the thing and it just crushing against me – it’s exactly as you imagine it would feel. An immovable object and a crushing force, and something must give.

Renner also revealed his scars for the first time in a naked photo, featuring a large marking under his right shoulder blade.

Jeremy did not spare any of the horrible facts, but he did express thanks because things could have been out worse than they did.

He went on to say, ‘But thank God my skull didn’t completely collapse.Then it kept going. Undulate, undulate, undulate.

‘My cheekbone and eye socket broke, and the crushing of being ran over by the machine caused my eye to pop out. I could see my left eyeball via my right eye. ‘I was screaming for air.’

He stated, ‘There was no breathing happening.It is difficult to engage your abdominal muscles when you have 14 shattered ribs and a burst lung. I was unaware of this at the moment; all I needed was to get some air. I was going through my body’s checklist and trying to figure it out.

‘The first five minutes were about how I’ll breathe… I started to feel incredibly fatigued. My heart rate is getting lower and lower. Huooohohh, simply 45 minutes of exhausting breathing.

‘But with the exhaustion there was almost peace. The EMTs arrived and I thought, I have to give my body up to them, because I’m cooked. I’m not getting up. These aren’t just cramps. I’m not gonna walk back down the driveway to see my family.’

He told Men’s Health that he told himself at the time to ‘focus on breathing’ until EMTs arrived on the scene to rescue him.

He described the restroom experience as a mess, including showering.Whooooooooo! They give you drugs to keep you from going to the bathroom, which causes constipation. And you urinate in a jar. It was terrible. You’re peeing in a plastic container, which indicates that things aren’t going well.

‘It took me 17 minutes to get out of bed. I was happy to sometimes sit up and push myself into a chair and move a little bit. But a shower — everything took like half a day. I couldn’t get stuff wet. Your hair gets super greasy and gross and you stink, but I had all these staples I couldn’t wet, and I wasn’t going to f***ing risk infection. So I had sponge baths.’

Jeremy sustained multiple injuries, including 38 fractured bones in his ribs, knees, ankles, pelvis, face and hands.

In addition, he sustained a collapsed lung, a perforated liver, and a serious laceration in his head.

The Oscar candidate persevered and willed his way back to health, maintaining an incredibly upbeat attitude throughout.

He stated, “I have to get better than I was today.” That is all that f—ing matters. I am not setting a high bar here.

‘The only thing we can control in our lives is our perspective.’

Last month it was revealed that the talented star had taken a role in the third movie in Rian Johnson‘s acclaimed Knives Out franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

However, his career was abruptly cut short on January 1, 2023, when he was involved in a terrifying accident that nearly claimed his life.

He suffered a variety of catastrophic injuries, including around 30 shattered bones, and later revealed that one of his eyes had popped out.

Jeremy endured a rigorous months-long recovery process, which he shared on social media to the delight of his fans.

Metal plates now hold his ribcage and one eye socket in place, and a titanium rod was put into his damaged left shin, among other procedures.

‘The body is incredible,’ he remarked in the caption to a workout video. ‘Even though I feel like the Tin Man and need oil for all of my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia, etc.). After this warm-up, I was encouraged to continue (don’t tell my physical therapist).
