The Australian actress looked radiant in a pale yellow dress and jacket as she chatted about high school comedy, before returning from the broadcast in a stunning pink suit.
The comedian joked about how she used to prank teachers and other students in high school, which helped her prepare for her role in Senior Year.
Rebel stars in the film as the cheer captain Stephanie Conway, who suffers a head injury ahead of her senior prom that puts her in a two-decade coma.
She awakens to find that the world — and her own body — have changed considerably. Despite now being 37, she re-enrolls in school to graduate on her own terms.
The Today Show’s Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie initially sat down with Rebel to chat about the roots of her role and how being a prankster
‘I was very studious,’ she said of her school years, ‘But also I liked to do a lot of pranks.’
Some other time, she ‘secured an educator in a pantry,’ and she egged different educators at her all-young ladies live-in school into taking steps to remove her for smoking, however she cautioned them thereafter that she had just been puffing on a phony cigarette.
While abroad, she contracted malaria, and she had hallucinations about being an actress while sickened by the illness.
‘I came back to Australia and said, “Guys, I’ll go to law school as well, but I think I’ve got to pursue acting too.”‘
She added that people though she was ‘demented’ after making her career change plans.
The Pitch Perfect star also delved into her ‘year of health,’ which saw her lose 80 pounds at the start of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
‘I’m not perfect, obviously,’ she said. ‘I was eating ice cream in the bath last night.’
She added that her weight loss wasn’t just a matter of exercising, as it didn’t stick until she worked on the mental aspects of leading a healthier life.
On Instagram, Rebel highlighted the neon yellow St. John tweed dress and matching jacket that she wore for the interview, along with a yellow Louis Vuitton handbag.
