On Tuesday, Kim Kardashian faced criticism from her followers who said that she was attempting to overshadow her daughter North West’s recent performance in a live production of The Lion King.
The uproar began when the 43-year-old reality TV star shared multiple pictures of herself wearing an oversized trapper hat and a furry yellow coat, which were exact replicas of her 10-year-old daughter’s outfit during her May Hollywood Bowl performance as Simba.
North, who Kim shares with her ex-husband Kanye West, was chosen to participate in a live musical performance of The Lion King, which was matched to the renowned Disney animated picture.
Some of the original Lion King performers, including Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, and Ernie Sabella, performed alongside her as a 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 Simba.
After North posed for a photograph in the exact same way as one displaying her daughter’s outfit, Kim, who had posted footage of herself and her younger daughter Chicago singing along with North at the concert, was accused by a number of her followers of trying to steal North’s moment.

Due to the comparable displays, Kim was accused by a few of her admirers of attempting to steal North’s moment.
One enraged user said, “You couldn’t let your daughter have a moment; you had to wear it too.”
Why is it that she is never able to give people their chance? Another user remarked, “Always aims to surpass the original [sic],” on her Instagram photo.
Someone made the remark that Kim must have wanted a “part” in The Lion King too after seeing North’s jaw-dropping performance.
There were others who interpreted Kim’s wearing an attire resembling North’s as evidence that her daughter’s performance was ‘simply a promotional gimmick.’
One especially irritated commenter attempted to speculate as to what the Kardashians star might have been thinking.
‘”Let’s make it about me,”‘ they suggested.
North’s rendition of I Just Can’t Wait To Be King ended up going viral, and many social media users mocked the quality of her performance, while others assailed her as nothing more than an undeserving ‘nepo 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢.’

One person claimed she had paid ‘to let’ North ‘have a moment,’ before snatching away said moment
One upset fan of the classic movie sarcastically thanked Kim for ‘ruining lion king,’ while another claimed the controversy over Kim allegedly upstaging North didn’t make the young girl’s ‘performance any less miserable’
Some admirers even thought Kim’s tweet was darkly humorous, as was the dispute that surrounded it in the comments.
They said in the comments, “So you didn’t care that your daughter couldn’t sing? This was probably just business.”
A supporter expressed the opinion that Kim would ‘upstage’ her daughter because she believed she had earned it after she had ‘bought the stage.’

Some fans even found Kim’s post and the controversy swirling around it in the comments to be darkly comical.
‘Okay but her wearing this after her daughter completely butchered the role of young Simba is just hilarious,’ wrote one troll.
In her latest photoshoot, Kim was dressed in a skintight pale yellow bodysuit, which contrasted with the baggier sweatsuit-like outfit that North wore.
The Kardashians star wore a matching furry yellow handbag and a similarly large trapper hat, along with furry leg warmers.
She also tried out variations on the outfit, including one in which she wore a large yellow fur coat in the same shade.
She posed in profile in a related look with a much shorter jacket that revealed her slim legs covered in white stockings.
She elevated her stature in slim, clear pumps, and the outfit was somewhat reminiscent of a furry enveloping look in animal print that her ex Kanye West’s current wife Bianca Censori wore during an impromptu photoshoot that the rapper invited photographers to in January.

Although Kim’s outfit was nearly identical to the one North wore in a photoshoot posted to her mother’s Instagram account, North wore a simpler, more stripped down costume at the Hollywood Bowl
She was wearing less sophisticated clothing than the poses North was shot in for social media on May 24. She was wearing a zip-up yellow hood with a cap that resembled a mane, along with baggy shorts and fuzzy shoes (seen at the Hollywood Bowl).
Other pictures of Kim included her posing provocatively, one of which showed her lying on her coat as though it were a fur rug.

Kim’s attire was almost exactly the same as North’s from a photo shoot that was uploaded to her mother’s Instagram account, but North’s costume at the Hollywood Bowl was more basic and understated.
