Gen V season 2 introduces its first new character, who will play an important role in The Boys spin-off. The first live-action spinoff for Prime Video’s The Boys series, with Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters as showrunners, focuses on adolescent superheroes who compete in battle royale challenges at Godolkin University, also known as God U for short.
Given that the university is run by Vought International, a dark shadow lurks beneath the surface, exploding before the end of the first season. However, there were several notable deaths along the road.
Variety reported that Midnight Mass actor Hamish Linklater will star in Gen V season 2. He will play Cipher, Godolkin University’s newly appointed Dean, who is touted as dynamic and engaging. Cipher has a scientific background and is politically brilliant. He is also trusted and admired by high-ranking officials. He succeeds the former Dean, Indira Shetty (Shelley Conn), who died late in season 1.
Hamish Linklater Joins An Already Very Busy Gen V Season 2
Gen V Season 1 Concluded With A Cliffhanger.
“Linklater, known for his role as Father Paul in the Mike Flanagan series Midnight Mass , joins a season of Gen V that remains shrouded in mystery.”
Gen V‘s season 1 finale fully connects The Boys with its college-set spinoff, as the main protagonists survive a dangerous encounter with Homelander (Antony Starr) in the finale. The closing moments of the Prime Video show reveal the core group trapped in what appears to be a very isolated medical facility. Marie (Jaz Sinclair), Jordan (Derek Luh, London Thor), Emma (Lizze Broadway), and Andre (Chance Perdomo) have no clue where they are, in any case.
The upcoming episodes are confirmed to include major changes, following the tragic death of Perdomo. The actor passed away in March, at the age of 27, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Since then, Gen V‘s producers have confirmed that they will not recast Perdomo. Their joint statement, noted in part: “We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.” As of now, Gen V season 2 does not have a confirmed release date.

Linklater, best known for his portrayal as Father Paul in Mike Flanagan’s Midnight Mass, will appear in a mystery-filled season of Gen V. More will likely be revealed in The Boys season 4, which premieres on June 13, since two characters from the spinoff — Maddie Phillips as Cate and Asa Germann as Sam — will appear. It will pick up on a thread that suggested they had aligned with Homelander’s toxic and corrosive values.
