PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers showcased their quarterback acquisitions, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, for the first time during their Organized Team Activities (OTAs), with an almost full roster in attendance. The practice field at Pittsburgh buzzed with energy as these new signings took center stage.
Russell Wilson was the focal point as the primary quarterback, leading the drills and establishing his position at the forefront of the team’s offensive strategies. It was expected that Wilson would take the helm as the Steelers’ QB1, following comments from Head Coach Mike Tomlin throughout the preseason indicating Wilson’s leading status. Justin Fields, on the other hand, engaged as the competitive backup, demonstrating the team’s depth in the quarterback position.
Throughout the session, Wilson and Fields connected with key receivers, including George Pickens and Roman Wilson, alongside Calvin Austin, Van Jefferson, and tight end Pat Freiermuth. This practice provided a glimpse into the potential dynamic offense the Steelers could deploy in the upcoming season.
The Steelers are slated to continue their preparation over the next three weeks with OTAs and a minicamp, before taking a brief break. The team will then reconvene in Latrobe for their training camp, where the players will further hone their s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s and chemistry.
Fans of the Steelers can look forward to continued updates and highlights from the team’s practice sessions, giving insights into how the new quarterback duo adapts and thrives in Pittsburgh’s storied football environment.
