Caitlin Clark entered the WNBA with the weight of the league on her shoulders. As one of the most highly touted prospects to ever enter the draft, Clark was seen a franchise changer.
She has all the pressure in the world, and while she’s a great player, Clark deserves to be a rookie with growing pains.
WNBA legend Sue Bird spoke on Clark’s transition to the league, sharing her honest truth on the situation of her influence on women’s basketball.
“Sometimes it feels like the weight of the WNBA is on her shoulders… that is both a compliment and warranted…but also a little bit unfair to put so much on her.. you watch the games and she’s not even getting that many great looks,” said Bird, via Vanshay Murdock on X.
