JoJo Siwa responded openly to Chloe Fineman’s imitation of her on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update segment.
Weekend Update anchor Colin Jost started the program by talking about Siwa’s first adult single, Karma, which she premiered at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Siwa, who recently reunited with other Dance Moms stars for a special in New York City, shared her thoughts on Sunday via her Instagram story.
‘ICONIC. I literally do not know what to say. This is ridiculous. A three and a half-minute skit on Saturday Night Live….’ Siwa said in the description to her Instagram story post.
Fineman replied to Siwa’s response, writing, ‘@itsjojosiwa you are my spirit animal and ACTUALLY the most iconic.’

Following Jost’s quick introduction, Fineman appeared on the Weekend Update sporting a tweaked version of Siwa’s odd KISS-inspired costume from the iHeartRadio awards.
Jost was faux-shocked by her dramatically changed appearance, as Fineman interjected, ‘That’s correct, Colin. “I’m a bad girl now,” she said as the crowd cheered for her.
Jost added that this was a’very different appearance’ for her, displaying a snapshot of the bright and colorful outfits she’d been wearing for years.
‘Yeah yeah. It’s a pretty big change. I used to be rainbow sparkles and now I’m black sparkles,’ she said to laughs from the crowd.
She added that her look was like, ‘I look like a figure skater joined a street gang,’ while Jost joked, ‘I was gonna say it was like if Mad Max was on Broadway.’
Fineman asked Jost if her new look ‘scared him,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, but not in the way you were hoping.’
‘Yeah, I’m in my bad girl era now. I even do cigarettes,’ as Jost added that you can’t some there unless you’re Dave Chappelle.
He asked how people were reacting to her transformation, she said, ‘it’s been called, gutsy, brave and revolutionary,’ but when Jost asked who those quote were attributed to, she said, ‘Me. I’m very cocky. That’s what she said!’
After Jost’s brief introduction, Fineman took to the Weekend Update, wearing a modified version of Siwa’s bizarre KISS-inspired look at the iHeartRadio awards
Jost was faux-shocked at her wildly different appearance, as Fineman added, ‘That’s right Colin. I’m a bad girl now,’ as the crowd cheered for her

‘But seriously Colin, I’ve completely reinvented myself and no one my age has done this,’ Fineman said.
Jost asked how old Siwa is, and she said, ‘Well, from 2011 to 2023 I was 8, but now I’m 20 and gay! I’m the first gay girl in the world! Bet you never met a gay girl before.’
Jost joked that a lot of the women he dated turned gay, and Fineman’s Siwa claimed she invented a new genre of music called ‘gay pop.’
When asked why she was doing this, Fineman said she’s an artist and she’s ‘holding a mirror up to society and then I’m holding that mirror up to myself thinking, whoa, that’s what I look like? Cause that’s crazy!’
