Rebel Wilson has revealed the very unusual career path her mother hoped she’d take
Rebel shocked fans by revealing her mother Sue Bownds originally wanted her to work with animals
‘We are quite a conservative family so she didn’t like seeing me on TV swearing and wearing crazy outfits with my stomach hanging out. To me I was doing it for comic purposes but she was like, “no that is my daughter”‘.
Elsewhere, Rebel said her career is down to her beloved mother Sue
She said: ‘I have to give it up to my mum as she enrolled me in all these local drama classes when I was 14, because she could tell I was painfully shy.
‘I wanted to express myself, I just didn’t know how. So she enrolls me, but I wasn’t going to go, but she ripped me off the car door and pushed me through the door.
‘I weirdly started speaking in an American accent and pretended to be someone else, and slowly but surely I started developing self-confidence.’
It comes after Rebel admitted working with Sacha Baron Cohen was the ‘worst professional experience’ of her career, which made her feel ‘humiliated’.
