New Netflix Medical Drama Casts The Boys and Law & Order: SVU Stars.

Pulse, Netflix’s first original medical procedural, has added new cast members, including known faces from The Boys and Law & Order: SVU.

Netflix’s upcoming series Pulse, the streamer’s first original medical procedural, has added five additional cast members, including The Boys’ Jessie T. Usher and Law & Order: SVU‘s Jessy Yates.

Per Deadline, the new additions also include Pennyworth star Jack Bannon, Warrior‘s Chelsea Muirhead, and Vampire Academy‘s Daniela Nieves. The five actors join Willa Fitzgerald, Colin Woodell, and Justina Machado for Pulse. The series follows the staff of Miami’s busiest Level 1 Trauma Center as they navigate medical emergencies, as young ER doc Danny Simms, played by Fitzgerald, is unexpectedly promoted to Chief Resident amidst the fallout of her own provocative romantic relationship. Bannon will portray Tom Cole, a Surgical Resident who is “a witty and charming Brit who came to Miami for the excellent trauma program but also for the lifestyle that Miami offers.”

Usher plays Sam Elijah, “a third-year Emergency Medicine Resident. Born and raised in the Florida panhandle, Elijah is a thoughtful and altruistic doctor who, under his calm and considered demeanor, has a competitive edge.” Muirhead’s Sophie Chan is a surgical intern who is “Smart, capable, and willing to endure anything in her quest to become a great surgeon.” Nieves’s Camila Perez is a third-year medical student who stays optimistic despite the long hours and an endless workload. Yates will play Harper, Danny Simms’ younger sister. Harper is a self-assured second-year Emergency Medicine resident and wheelchair user.

Zoe Robyn and Carlton Cuse, who serve as showrunners and executive producers, created Pulse. Bradley Garner, Emma Forman, and Michael Klick also executive produce. Kate Dennis will direct and executive produce the medical procedural’s first two episodes.

Pulse’s New Cast Members

Bannon recently wrapped The Darkness, a six-part series directed by Lasse Hallström and produced by Stampede Ventures, Truenorth, and CBS Studios. The actor has previously starred in Pennyworth, Endeavour, Kids in Love, The Imitation Game, and Fury. Usher features in Amazon’s hit series The Boys as A-Train, a role he reprised in The Boys spinoff Gen V. Usher has appeared in Starz’s Survivor’s Remorse, MacGyver, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Banker, Dangerous Lies, Smile, and Seal Team.

Muirhead plays Yan Mi in the hit show Warrior, while Nieves leads the cast of Peacock’s young adult series Vampire Academy. Yates has been on series such as Law & Order: SVU and Speechless and will appear in Apple TV+’s series Me.
