WHOOPI Goldberg has set the record straight on if she was really banned from Guy Fieri’s restaurant amid a flurry of internet rumors.
The View host also addressed if she had a feud with Oprah Winfrey.
Whoopi Goldberg addressed rumors about her on the latest episode of The View after her name was put on a fake list of public figures involved in the Jeffrey Epstein case
The host said that she was never kicked out of Guy Fieri or Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants and that the claims were made on a satirical site
On Thursday, The View hosts talked about the documents that were released in the Jeffery Epstein case.
The documents that have been released so far have named numerous Epstein associates and public figures that were mentioned in the 2015 defamation lawsuit.
More will be revealed in the coming days.
Sunny Hostin, who is also a lawyer, said, “Just because your name is on the document doesn’t mean you have done anything criminally, irresponsible, or illegal, or civilly irresponsible.”
She went on to talk about conspiracy theorists who aren’t delivering the facts.
“Let me bring that up,” Whoopi, 68, said after Sunny was finished with her point.
“I have to explain because there was a fake list. And I’m on it.”
After Whoopi stared out into the crowd for a second, Sunny, 55, spoke up.
“So, you were on the island?” she asked.
“Apparently. I don’t know,” Whoopi stuttered.
“They said I was on the island. And I’m like, ‘I don’t go anywhere.'”
ADDRESSING THE RUMORS
Whoopi went on, “I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody, but apparently there are these sites, satire sites, but people don’t realize that they can be harmful.
“So, let me just get my part out.”
“I never got kicked out of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. I never got kicked out of Guy Fieri’s restaurant,” Whoopi said.
“Oh gosh!” Sunny said from off-screen.
“I didn’t get kicked off Bill Maher’s show,” Whoopi continued.
“I didn’t get into a fight with Oprah backstage here at The View.”
Whoopi went on to say that the rumors were insane and they just go “on and on and on.”
Joy Behar then asked Whoopi if she was carrying George Clooney’s 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢.
Whoopi responded with a “not yet,” which made her co-hosts crack up.
THE STORY
On X, formerly Twitter, a user posted on January 2, that Guy, 55, banned Whoopi from eating at his restaurant.
“Guy Fieri takes a bold step, telling Whoopi Goldberg, ‘You’re not welcome here’ and escorting her out of his restaurant,” the post read.
A picture of the two of them was posted side by side with the caption, “‘You’re Not Welcome Here.’ Guy Fieri Throws Whoopi Goldberg out of His Restaurant.”
The post went viral with thousands of likes and retweets, making people think it was true.
However, the sites that posted this were satire sites that made the whole story up.
Whoopi also said that she never had a fight with Oprah Winfrey backstage at The View
