Drake has shared a memory from the day of his first Degrassi: The Next Generation audition while opening up about his biggest fear in life.
With his and 21 Savage’s It’s All A Blur Tour set to kick off in Chicago on Wednesday night (July 5), the 6 God reflected on how far he’s come in his decorated career with a poignant Instagram post.
“Someone asked me the other night what my biggest fear is and I’ve never actually had a good answer for it,” he narrated. “But my answer was that all this is for nothing. Kind of the idea that one day life just ends and it all goes black.
“And I guess that question sent me, you know, obviously deep into a spiral of thought. And it makes me think about my life and how surreal it feels at times.”

Drake then went on to recount his teenage years, specifically the time he got high ahead of his Degrassi audition and how that shaped his future.
“I go back to this day when I was like 13 or 14. I had an audition for a TV show that ultimately shaped my life, and before my audition, I went to this kid’s house and out of, I guess a desire to be accepted, I would succumb to peer pressure and I got high with these kids right before my audition,” he explained.
“I kind of wonder if something bad happened that day or maybe I’m still high, or this is some coma and this is me playing out my ideal life. And yeah that concept has stuck with me for a lot of years. I mean it feels like reality, it feels tangible but I definitely wonder sometimes.”
Over two decades later, Drake is still riding high in the rap game as he prepares to launch another arena tour — this time with Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage.
The opening date is slated for Wednesday night — the first of two shows at Chicago’s United Center — before he heads to Detroit this weekend.
Fans are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of Drake’s For All the Dogs album, which he’s teased as a companion soundtrack to his new poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything.
