Beyonce’s Mom, Ms. Tina Knowles Break Social Media On Cardi B And Her stylist Kollin Carter for The Hollywood Reporter

Cardi B’s style evolution is well-documented. From launching her first collection with Fashion Nova in 2018 to walking the runway of Balenciaga’s Pre-Fall 2024 show in 2023, she’s certainly solidified herself as an icon.

However, navigating the upper echelons of high fashion hasn’t come without its challenges, as the rapper revealed during a feature story for The Hollywood Reporter today (March 27).

Cardi and her stylist, Kollin Carter, reflected on some of her prominent looks and how the New York native paved the way for other women in Hip Hop.

Speaking on the “Enough (Miami)” artist’s 2019 Met Gala outfit, Carter said, “That look broke Cardi B into the next level of the fashion world. People who didn’t take us seriously were like, ‘OK, they’re here to stay.’”

The pair also worked together on an ensemble for the event in 2022, where Cardi wore a gold Versace dress. Meanwhile, in 2023, she sported a black quilted gown created by designer Chen Peng, complete with massive black roses. “Karl Lagerfeld was such a force, so I wanted to pay tribute to him but also incorporate elements of Chanel,” Carter said.

“There are so many obstacles against us. For example, this body is not meant for a size two. I’m very hips, a**, and that’s me,” Cardi explained. “It was not easy, but we make it look easy. Our door was closed many times… but we’re here because we do it well. I’m not going to be humble about it.”

Carter chimed in: “We’ve given look after look, year after year, we’ve reached into archives that are impossible to reach into. We caused a cultural shift. I don’t think there were many women like Cardi who existed in the fashion space. Now, there are a ton of other rap females who aspire to be in that space because they see what’s possible. We set trends.”

After Cardi B share her stylist Kollin Carter for The Hollywood Reporter the Beyoncé’s mom, Ms. Tina Knowles, liked the attractive style in minutes after it was posted, and she also reposted it.

Cardi B, on the other hand, threatened to sue the Los Angeles Police Department over an alleged incident that she claimed ended with her being strip searched over the weekend.

The 31-year-old rapper backtracked on the story to say that there was ‘no truth’ to her wild claims after the LAPD said there was no record of the incident ever taking place.

Cardi made the allegations during an Instagram Live stream on Monday, although some fans speculated that she was joking around for dramatic effect.

Then on Tuesday, the LAPD told both TMZ and The Daily Beast that there was no record of the incident ever taking place.

And now Cardi has come forward to say that there was ‘no truth’ to her wild story and that she was ‘taken out of context.’

‘This IG live was taken out of context and there is no truth to this story. Apologies for any confusion,’ the rapper said in a statement to Billboard.

In Monday’s Instagram Live, the rapper began by telling fans that she was ‘stopped by the cops’ in Los Angeles on Sunday.

‘They thought I was trafficking fentanyl, and they thought I had a gun in my car, so they stopped me and everything. All the helicopters in L.A., they was outside. Yo, I was freaking out,’ she continued.

‘They had me outside for like, three hours. They had me getting butt naked outside, s**t was crazy. It was deadass a movie and whatever, but you already know.’

The Enough hitmaker then said she was ‘about to sue the LAPD’ over the alleged debacle.

Despite her allegations, a detective at the LAPD told the Daily Beast that they had ‘no record of contact with Cardi’.

Law enforcement sources also told TMZ that there were no reports of the incident Cardi described and that ‘if something as dramatic as what she described happened, it’d be documented’.

It’s possible that Cardi was joking about the incident, as she was speaking in a different voice when she recounted it on Instagram – and even burst out laughing at the end of the tale.

‘Alright, so no, seriously, I just wanna say thank you to my mother f***ing fans,’ she added at the end.

It comes just days after Cardi stripped down for the X-rated music video to her new hit Enough (Miami). Cardi can be seen strutting her stuff in a racy one-piece, which partially covered her with furry coat, and knee-high platform platform.
