Jennifer Lopez in a tight, keyhole-shaped dress with famous curves, she faces a lot of competition from the crowd..

She’s one of the most instantly recognisable Latino stars, with a level of worldwide fame many of her contemporaries can only dream of.

So it was only to be expected that Jennifer Lopez would steal the show as she arrived for the Latin Grammys in a figure-hugging Andrew Gn keyhole dress last night.

But while her famous curves were as eye-catching as ever, she had plenty of competition from the crowd of stars walking the red carpet in Las Vegas.

Dresses in every shade of the rainbow, along with lashings of make-up, were the order of the night.

Actress Camilla Belle, whose mother is Brazilian, chose a stylish orange top and flowing skirt.

But her tasteful outfit was somewhat overshadowed by some of her more outlandish fellow red carpet stars.

The awards kicked off with Argentina’s Gustavo Cerati picking up early awards for best rock album and song.

Cerati, who has been in a coma since suffering a stroke earlier this year, has been a fixture in Latin music for decades. He fronted the popular rock band Soda Stereo in the 1980s and 90s before launching a solo career.

Camila’s song Mientes, won recording of the year and song of the year, and the group won best group vocal album for Dejarte de amar.

Guerra won album of the year and best contemporary tropical album for A son de guerra, and best tropical song Bachata en Fukuoka, adding to his previous 12 Latin Grammys.

The award for best urban song went to Spanish hip-hop singer Mala Rodriguez for No Pidas Perdon. Rodriguez is also nominated for best urban album for Dirty Bailarina.

Several elder statesman of Latin music picked up key awards, including Panamanian salsa singer Ruben Blades for best singer-songwriter album with Cantares del Subdesarrollo, Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil took home best MPB (musica popular brasileira) album for Banda Dois and best native Brazilian roots album for Fe Na Festa.

The Latin Recording Academy recognizes music released anywhere in the world under the condition that they were recorded in Spanish or Portuguese.
