Though 50 Cent has been a supporter of Tekashi 6ix9ine, he says he has no plans to work with the rapper following his recent prison release.
50 Cent has admitted that while he “wouldn’t work” with 6ix9ine, he does understand why the recently released rapper snitched.
“I wouldn’t work with him. What it is, is it’s just against the way I grew up,” Fif told Big Boy in a new interview on Thursday, with the 6ix9ine talk starting at the 23:12 mark in the video above. “Remember I told you I understood why he did what he did?”
Fif continued, “When you say he’s not a gang member or he’s not this kinda guy, but you slept with his 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢’s mother and you gonna do something to his mother—tell any traditional kid, tell actual consumers of music in middle America that’s gonna buy the actual CD, that hits the button—tell them that somebody slept with my girlfriend and had intentions of hurting my mom. And you want me to do 40 years for them?”
“Without speaking in a negative way about [6ix9ine]—I think the new artists are gonna adjust to him,” 50 went on. “They gonna work with him. Watch, because he’ll have some success and then you’ll start to see people not care so much and it’ll be more important to them to have a hit than to stand with that.”
He’s expressed this point of view before. In an interview with Angie Martinez in February, Fif told the host that “street opinions” wouldn’t crush 6ix9ine’s success, again nodding to kids in middle America as the determining factor.
Fif’s comments also allude to 6ix9ine’s 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 mother Sara Molina sleeping with the rapper’s former manager, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, which both Shotti and Molina denied. Shotti also reportedly threatened to shoot Molina and 6ix9ine’s daughter, Saraiyah.
6ix9ine was released from prison to home incarceration earlier this month. A few days later, 50 Cent brushed off his relationship with 69, saying, “Nah, I ain’t heard from 6ix9ine. He’s his mother’s child now. He told on everybody,” Fif said on Instagram Live. “He better than Marquise, though. I’ll take him before I take my actual biological son. F*ck that n***a.”
Marquise, 50’s son, later responded to 50 by saying on his IG Stories that he wanted zero part in his father “claiming a rat.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Fif touched on his new book Hustle Harder, why Eminem is the most “credible” white rapper, and more.
