The feat hadn’t been accomplished since Allen Iverson’s day. Caitlin Clark continues to shatter the realms of probability with another landmark achievement

Caitlin Clark‘s sensational NCAA Division I season with the Iowa Hawkeyes continues to roll on as she inspires her side to a 95-68 win in the Big Ten tournament, producing form not seen since Allen Iverson dominated the NBA scene with the Philadelphia 76ers back in 2004.

Clark‘s stats in the game means that she’s gone 28 consecutive games with scoring a minimum of 20 points per game and five assists per game. If she does it for two more days, she will surpass Iverson‘s record of 29 consecutive games in that kind of form, giving an understanding of just how ridiculous her output is this season.

Caitlin Clark’s unethical play missed by referees sparks debate

In the win over the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, March 9, Clark posted 28 points and 15 assists, accounting for 43 of her side’s 95 points (43.8%) to consolidate further her status as one of the NCAA’s best ever athletes and one of the best ever women athletes in collegiate history.

Her performance in the semifinal was more than enough to earn her MVP shouts anyway, if you ignore the frankly ridiculous stats from earlier in the season such as breaking Kelsey Plum and Pete Maravich‘s college points records within the space of 14 days from each other.

Clark defends her Big Ten title

The final for the Championship took place on Sunday, March 10 as the Nebraska Cornhuskers proved unable to stop Clark and the Hawkeyes‘ train from rolling them over too.

After initially beginning the contest slowly by trailing 46-35 at half-time, the defending champions came on strongly after the break and figured out how to shut the Cornhuskers‘ offense down as they only scored 31 points to the Hawkeyes’ 42 in the second half allowing Clark‘s team to give themselves one final chance in overtime.

Caitlin Clark of @IowaWBB has had at least 20 points and 5 assists in 28 consecutive games.

That’s the longest streak by any NBA, WNBA or Division I men’s or women’s player in a single season since Allen Iverson had a 29-game streak in 2004-05. pic.twitter.com/AkNKvNDBh0

Then they out-scored the Cornhuskers by five points at the Target Center in Minneapolis to defend their crown for the second consecutive season.

Clark shone once again by posting 34 points and 12 assists as she came in clutch for her team as per usual throughout 2023-24.
