Dallas rapper Yella Beezy was arrested in connection to the 2020 murder of fellow hometown rapper Mo3.

On Tuesday (March 18), the 33-year-old rapper, born Markies Conway, was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of Mo3, born Melvin Noble. He was taken in by authorities and booked into the Dallas County Jail Thursday afternoon, following a warrant for his arrest, USA Today reports. According to investigators, Conway hired Kewon Dontrell White to murder Noble.

Yella is being charged with capital murder, which means he is eligible for the death penalty. His bond has not been set yet, per TMZ.

Mo3 was 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed on Nov. 11, 2020. Investigators say White murdered him in an ambush-style shooting, approaching his car in a ski mask in the middle of the day on I-35 in Dallas. As the rapper tried to escape on foot, White shot him in the back several times. White was arrested and charged a month later, currently serving nine years for gun charges.

This isn’t Yella Beezy’s first run-in with law enforcement. Back in 2021, the rapper was arrested on gun charges. He was hit with a gun possession charge after being pulled over in Dallas, Texas, during a police search. He was also hit was a 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual assault charge for allegedly raping a woman on the first date.
