Deborra-Lee Furness might be the only one who somewhat confirmed that ex-husband Hugh Jackman had an affair with Sutton Foster. She “liked” an Instagram post in November that discussed the reported relationship, but the Wolverine star and the 49-year-old Broadway actress have remained silent so far.
Still, insiders are talking about Furness’ emotions since she was reportedly the “last to know” about Jackman’s fling, according to the Daily Mail. The betrayal wasn’t just with Jackman, though. Furness is reportedly “seething with rage” that her A-list friends Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively didn’t tip her off,
“They kept their lips sealed out of loyalty to Hugh,” a source claimed to the media outlet. “Debs feels cheated by all three because someone could have told her what was happening, and they all chose to keep their mouths shut.” She feels “blindsided” not only by Jackman’s infidelity but also by people who she counted as close friends.
Jackman and Foster’s affair reportedly began while co-starring in the Broadway revival of The Music Man which ran from December 2021 to January 2023. Reynolds, who has long been BFFs with Jackman, attended the opening night of the show with Lively. The couple even stopped on the red carpet to pose with Furness, so the family support was quite evident.
This summer, Lively, Reynolds, and Jackman were often spotted together during the promotion of the group’s two films, It Ends With Us and Deadpool & Wolverine. It almost feels like they chose a side after Furness and Jackman split, so Reynolds and Lively had to know something — it’s unclear when they heard the news though. As for Foster, she has not been spotted in the tight friend circle yet, but that situation may change soon.
However, Jackman and Foster are reportedly thinking about going public with their romance, according to Star via OK! Magazine. “They’ve been hiding their relationship from the outside world for so long, sneaking around, living apart, but there will come a time when they’ll want to come out as a couple,” a source alleged. “Soon, they may start testing the waters.”
That next stage might be the most painful one for Furness.
