Hollywood and Bollywood have both been greatly impacted by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Her career took off after she gave standout performances in movies like Mary Kom, Fashion, and Barfi, making her one of the most well-known Indian actresses, singers, and producers in the world.
Following her Bollywood triumph, Priyanka pursued an acting career in Hollywood, landing her first major part in the television series Quantico. It wasn’t easy for her, even if her Hollywood career grew with parts in movies like Baywatch and The Matrix Resurrections.
Why Priyanka left Bollywood
Even though Priyanka has long been a well-known figure in Bollywood, her fans were surprised when she decided to accept a number of mediocre Hollywood productions. Priyanka discussed her reasons for leaving Bollywood, despite being a successful actress, in a retro interview with Dax Shepherd on the Armchair Expert podcast. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood),” she said. I stated I wanted a sabbatical because I was bored of politics, people weren’t casting me, I had a falling out with people, and I’m not good at that game.
Why Priyanka did B-grade movies in Hollywood
Priyanka seized the chance to pursue a career in music as soon as it presented itself. She quickly discovered, though, that it wasn’t achieving her goals, so she started looking for acting auditions in Hollywood. After pursuing Hollywood fame, Priyanka had a number of difficulties. Before securing significant opportunities in bigger projects, she took on a number of little roles to progressively broaden her English-language filmography.
She also faced a flurry of inquiries concerning her decision to abandon her Bollywood fame. In response, she revealed, “So with every job that I have gotten from smaller roles in features that I did, which I needed to build my English-language filmography, I had a lot of people who knew me from my Indian film days, questioning why I went to Hollywood to do small parts and B-grade movies, is what they would say.”
Despite working on several B-grade projects, she eventually found her place by starring in movies with A-list actors like Dwayne Johnson. She also had a lead role in another TV Show, Citadel, alongside Richard Madden.
