Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made a young boy’s dreams come true after they called the Deadpool fan to invite him to watch a Wrexham game in a heartfelt clip.
Riley, nine, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer in 2023, and has had his lower leg amputated.
Earlier this year the family tragically found out Riley’s cancer had returned and spread and they began an online appeal by Micky Day from cancer charity Miles for Men on BBC Radio Tees to help Riley fulfil his wish of meeting Ryan himself.
And the appeal was spotted by the actor on Twitter, as he contacted Micky via direct message and arranged to have a video call with Riley where he invited him to come and join him at his club in Wrexham.
In the sweet clip Riley looked over the moon as Ryan said: ‘Well hello there Riley. It is so nice to meet you I have heard so much about you.

He then promised: ‘You have been going through a lot and I cannot wait to meet you. I’m going to make sure this is one of the best days of your life.’
Ryan’s wife Blake also joined the call as she teased: ‘You’re wearing Deadpool and Wolverine, which one is your favourite?’ as Ryan uttered: ‘Deadpool’ under his breath.
Leaving the room she then added: ‘Wolverine was his favourite I can tell.’
Ryan then joked to Riley: ‘I have no idea who that was. Thank you for playing along. I was frightened as well.’
He added: ‘Thank you for taking the time to chat. I really really liked hanging out with you.’
Riley’s mum, Sarah, said: ‘It was incredible that they took so much time out of their busy day to make one little boy feel special. Yeah, it means everything.
‘You could see what it meant to him he was starstruck.’
It isn’t the first time the Hollywood couple have shown their charitable side after they donated £10,000 to the parents of a disabled four-year-old suffering with a rare brain disorder.

Aaron and Charlotte Perrin’s son Louis was born with a genetic condition called TUBA1A, which causes him to have painful leg spasms, limited mobility, epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
And the couple were ‘blown away’ after receiving a donation from Ryan and Rob McElhenney to adapt their home to suit his needs.
Louis is a keen supporter of Wrexham AFC and his parents were ‘shocked’ to see a £10,000 donation on their fundraising page from the club’s owners back in February, to help towards adapting their home in the city.
Charlotte, who works in the emergency services, revealed: ‘Louis’ carer screenshotted the donation page and was like, ‘oh my God, look at that’, and then I tried to get in touch with my husband.’
Aaron, who is a headteacher, added: ‘I was at work and was sitting in the staff room and saw I had two missed calls from Charl and then a message from one of my governors saying, ‘have you seen this?’
