Trump reveals the Kamala Harris celebrity endorsement that hurts the most: ‘I love her’

Donald Trump has admitted he was ‘so disappointed’ to see Julia Roberts take part in a pro-Kamala Harris advert ahead of the election, saying she will ‘look back and cringe.’

The former president spoke with Fox & Friends after Roberts voiced an advert for liberal group Vote Common Good that encouraged wives to hide their support for Harris from their husbands.

In response, Trump said: ‘I’m so disappointed at Julia Roberts because I love… she’s going to look back at that and she’s going to cringe.’

Roberts’ advert was released alongside another voiced by another pro-Harris A-lister, George Clooney, encouraging men to hide their votes for Harris from their male Republican friends.

Roberts sparked backlash after she narrated an advert for liberal group Vote Common Good that encouraged wives to hide their support for Harris from their husbands

In Roberts’ advert, two women were seen approaching a ballot box, with one appearing to be nervous about which candidate to vote for.

One of the women hesitates before voting for Kamala Harris, while Roberts says: ‘In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want, and no one will ever know.’

One of the women’s husbands, wearing a baseball cap with a bald eagle in a veiled parody of a MAGA hat, then asks her: ‘Did you make the right choice?’

‘Sure did honey,’ she replies with a wink to the camera.

Roberts then said in the commentary: ‘Remember, what happens in the booth, stays in the booth. Vote Harris- Walz.’

In response to the clip, Trump joked that the adverts ‘don’t say much for her relationship’. The star has been married to Danny Moder since 2002.

‘I’m sure she has a great relationship, but the wives and husbands, I don’t think that’s the way they deal,’ he continued.

‘I mean, can you imagine a wife not telling her husband who she’s voting for? You ever hear anything like that before?

The adverts were released by Vote Common Good, a non-profit aimed at mobilizing religious voters for the Democrats.

In the other ad featuring George Clooney, a group of men went to cast their ballots together with their families.

‘Come on boys. Let’s make America great again,’ one of the men tells the group.

One of the others looks at a family photo as he decides who to vote for, as Clooney narrates: ‘Before you cast your vote in this election, think about how it will impact the people you care about the most.’

The friend asks him, ‘You do your patriotic duty?’, to which he responds: ‘You bet I did, brother.’

The adverts sparked backlash from conservatives online, as critics of the ad accused the organization of encouraging deceitfulness between married couples.

One user on X said in a post: ‘I can’t imagine not knowing exactly how my wife would vote. I can’t imagine my wife not talking to me about any of these controversial topics. I can’t believe there’s a campaign that encourages women to lie and deceive their husbands.’

The same group also released an advert targeted at men, showing one man hiding his vote for Kamala Harris as a friend tells a group: ‘Come on boys. Let’s make America great again’

‘Right. Encourage marital strife. That’s the way to reach married women. This is so disturbing’ another said.

Disapproval also came from female users, who called the ad ‘misogynistic.’

‘I’m guessing the people who created this ad have never been married, said one.

‘I’m at a loss for words at how condescending this is towards women,’ wrote another. ‘Do Democrats think marriages are stuck in the 1950s?’

‘If you have to lie to your spouse about voting, that’s the least of your problems…’ said another.
