Although he no longer maintains a close relationship with the Royal Family, there was a time when the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 was very close to his brother and sister-in-law – the Prince and Princess of Wales. Harry was even very happy when William and Kate Middleton officially got married in 2011 and built their own family. The couple welcomed their first child, Prince George, in July 2013. In May 2015, their second daughter, Princess Charlotte, was born. Then, Prince Louis – the couple’s youngest child – was born in April 2018.
In 2017, a year before Louis was born, Harry shared sweet words about his grandchildren George and Charlotte. In an interview with author Angela Levin, Harry said: “The reason I’m fifth in line to the throne is because of my nephew and niece, and I would never want that to change. They’re the best.” Harry’s sharing was later published in the Daily Mail.
Also in this interview, the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 also shared about his desire to have children of his own: “I am determined to have a normal life and if I am lucky enough to have children, they will have the same life. We do not want to be just a group of celebrities, but instead, we want to use our roles for good things.”
Since 2020, Harry and Meghan Markle have stepped down as senior members of the British Royal Family and moved to the United States. The couple currently have two children, Archie (born May 2019) and Lilibet (born June 2021).
