Priyanka Chopra has shared that she and Richard Madden made a pact to ensure their 𝓈ℯ𝓍 scenes in Citadel looked flattering on camera. The duo stars in the Amazon Prime Video thriller as spies collaborating to combat a global threat.
Amidst intense action sequences, the pair also shared steamy moments that required careful planning. Speaking to ETimes, Priyanka, 40, explained, “There are like 2,000 people in the room while we are shooting.”
She added, “We helped each other out. If I was uncomfortable with some unflattering camera angles, I would tell him, ‘Put your hand there and cover me,’ and he would respond, ‘You put your hand here.’”
Discussing their connection during filming, Richard Madden, 36, noted, “We got to know each other through working together on the script and during fight rehearsals. We aimed to weave a narrative through the action while maintaining the intricacies and subtleties of human relationships amidst all the spectacle.” He added that their mutual fondness made it easy to create and have fun on screen.
Priyanka echoed his sentiments, saying, “We were both prep-oriented and really particular and intentional. I was like, ‘Thank God! It’s so nice to work with someone who does that.’”
The thriller series Citadel, created by David Weil for Amazon Prime, features the Russo brothers as executive producers. Priyanka plays Nadia Sinh, a spy with affected memory who teams up with her former colleague Mason Kane (Richard Madden) to tackle a global threat.
In addition to the main series, Citadel will have spin-offs in various countries and languages, featuring entirely different casts. The Italian series will star Matilda De Angelis, co-produced by Amazon Studios and Cattleya, while an Indian version will feature Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The trailer for the upcoming British version of Citadel is set to release on April 28 and was recently unveiled on Amazon Prime Video’s official YouTube channel.
Priyanka’s sweet remarks about her co-star come after she opened up about her trouble bonding with people in the Bollywood industry.
The Indian actress started out as a Bollywood star in the Noughties but moved to America in 2015 when she took on a leading role in Quantico.
Speaking on Dax Shephard’s Armchair Expert podcast she confessed: ‘I’ve never said this so I’m going to say it because you’ll make me feel safe.’
‘I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.’
