Billie Eilish Follows in Taylor Swift’s Footsteps & Endorses Kamala Harris

‘We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms and our future,’ O’Connell added.

He said ‘the only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.’

‘Vote like your life depends on it because it does,’ Eilish said.

Singer Billie Eilish announces she is backing Vice President Kamala Harris for president

Eilish’s support for the Democratic presidential nominee does not come as much of a surprise. The singer performed during the Democratic National Convention in 2020.

Do you think celebrities should stay out of politics?

YesNoDepends on the celebrity

She is the latest in a series of celebrities to endorse the 59-year-old vice president in her bid for the White House.

The Kamala Harris-Tim Walz campaign promoted Eilish’s endorsement on National Voter Registration Day, urging Americans to register ahead of the election.

It comes after fellow singer Taylor Swift announced she will be voting for Harris one week ago following the presidential debate.

On Tuesday, Harris responded to the slew of celebrity endorsements in the 2024 presidential race including the highly-coveted support from Swift.

In a radio interview, host Stephanie ‘Chiqui𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢’ Himonidis noted Swift’s endorsement as well as those from other stars.

Himonidis mentioned Swift by name before asking Harris to weigh in on the Mexican band dropping its collaboration with Nicky Jam who recently endorsed Trump.

Harris responded that she’s ‘very grateful’ to all the artists who understood the stakes of the election and endorsed her candidacy.

‘I’m very honored to have their support,’ the vice president said.

Harris added she is thankful for them raising their voice.

Kamala Harris given opportunity to weigh in on celebrity endorsements including Taylor Swift’s said she is ‘honored to have their support’

Harris’ comments on the Chiqui𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢 Show is the first time the vice president has weighed in directly on the celebrity endorsements even though she did not mention Swift or any other celebrity by name.

It comes as her campaign has celebrated the superstar backing the Democratic nominee.

‘I will be a president for all Americans,’ Harris said. ‘I think there’s not place for hate and division in this country.’

She repeated her call that it’s time to ‘turn the page’ on the last decade, on the division and extremism.

‘There’s too much at stake in this election,’ Harris said.

Donald Trump’s post on Truth Social on Sunday just days after Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president

It comes just days after Donald Trump on Sunday posted on Truth Social ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!’

In the moments after the debate last Tuesday night, Swift posted on Instagram that she would be casting her vote in the 2024 election for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

‘I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,’ Swift wrote.

She also praised Harris’ picking Walz as her running mate and touted him ‘standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.’

She said she did her research and made her choice and encouraged her legions of supporters to do their own research. She also shared a link for people to register to vote.

Swift signed the post ‘Childless Cat Lady’ in a dig at Trump running mate J.D. Vance.

More than 400,000 people followed the link through her Instagram to information about registering to vote in 24 hours.

While Harris has not touted the Swift endorsement on the campaign trail, her running mate Tim Walz has given several shoutouts to ‘fellow cat owner’ Swift on the road since the endorsement.

He has also referred to Trump as the ‘smallest man who ever lived’ in a recent reference to a Swift song.

Harris during the taped radio interview on Tuesday also notably did not directly weigh in on the Mana-Nicky Jam controversy or the reggaeton star endorsing Trump.

Nicky Jam speaks with former President Donald Trump at his rally in Las Vegas on September 13. The ex-president misgendered the Latin singer saying ‘she’s hot’ at his rally

The Mexican rock band removed its collaboration with Jam after he publicly endorsed Trump over the weekend in Las Vegas. It said in a statement the band ‘doesn’t work with racists.’

The Harris campaign did not respond directly to the endorsement but did point out on social media that the ex-president misgendered the Latin singer, stating ‘she’s hot.’

Jam initially appeared to make light of the gaffe on Instagram, but he later deleted the post.
