EMOTIONAL SEASON 2 TWIST: Gen V Boss Confirms Storyline HONORING Late Star Chance Perdomo!

The show’s second season will feature a plotline honoring the late actor Chance Perdomo, according to Gen V developer Eric Kripke.

The actor, who portrayed Andre Anderson in the Prime Video series, died in March at the age of 27, following a motorbike accident. The producers later declared that the actor would not be playing the role again.

During the Gotham TV Awards, Kripke spoke with TVLine and said that the second season of the impending spin-off The Boys will clarify that Perdormo’s character has died in the plot and that the developer was unable to “replace” him.

“First, it’s just so unbelievably tragic, and my heart goes out to his family,” he said. “We’re not trying to replace him because we can’t. We’re playing the character’s death on the show. So it’s very heavy and it’s really emotionally difficult for the cast. And we’re just trying to honour Chance as best we can.”

Kripke, who has also written and directed episodes of The Boys, went on to preview the second season of Gen V from a wider standpoint.

“It’s really intense,” he teased. “It’s fun to sort of find your legs in the second season of a show and really start digging into the story and the characters.”

Following Perdormo’s tragic passing, producers and cast members of Gen V shared tributes to the star, with a spokesperson writing: “As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory.

“We will not recast the part since Chance cannot be replaced. Instead, we’ve been utilizing the time and space to rework our season 2 storylines before starting production in May. We will honor Chance and his memory this season.”

“Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss,” according to the actors. “We’ll remember the amazing times we spent with, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his loving hugs, and the authenticity he carried with him wherever. Rest in peace, my friend; you will be dearly missed. Love, The Generation V Cast.”

Seasons 1-3 of The Boys, as well as the spin-off Gen V, are available for streaming on Prime Video. The fourth season of The Boys premieres.
