“He doesn’t like to dunk” – Angel Reese reveals lucrative offer that fueled her brother to start dunking

WNBA rookie Angel Reese played the mental game with her younger brother as she challenged him to dunk every chance he got. The Chicago Sky forward isn’t the only basketball player in their family as her brother, Michael, also played college basketball.

Fans are now discovering Reese’s personal life slowly and the fact that she has a younger brother. Unlike her, Michael wasn’t as committed to playing basketball, despite being a 6-foot-8 forward. The younger brother played for Boston University at the start of his college career before transferring to Loyola Maryland University.

Michael was gifted with the athleticism that Angel wished she had. The Sky forward shared that her brother doesn’t like dunking on people, which is why she challenged him. The double-double machine told her brother that she’d give him $100 every time he dunked on somebody.

“I was watching him on my phone, I said, ‘Oh my God,’” Reese said. “Because one thing, he doesn’t like to dunk on people. If I could dunk, I’d dunk on everyone. I’m telling him, ‘You should dunk on everybody.’ I tell him, ‘Every game that you dunk on somebody, I’ll give you $100.’”

Reese didn’t reveal how much she gave her brother but it helped motivate the forward. Despite not being selected by the NBA, Michael pursued his basketball career abroad.

“I think he has so much more to bring not only to the team but to his game. And if nobody saw potential in him, I saw potential in him, my mom saw potential in him. So, seeing him grow to where he is right now is just amazing.”

According to her Wikipedia page, Michael has played in Luxembourg, Cyprus, Austria and Portugal as a professional basketball player.

Stephen A. Smith picks Angel Reese for ROTY

WNBA’s Rookie of the Year race has been tight. Both Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have done incredible things on the court as rookies. This has divided fans of their opinion and picks on which of the two deserves the award. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith gave his take on who he thinks deserves to win ROTY.

“Angel Reese … she may be Rookie of the Year. She’s special! And let me tell you this right now: I don’t care what anybody says, ’cause she can play. She’s no scrub, she’s a walking double-double,” Smith said.

Reese made history with 15 consecutive double-doubles in her first season alone. She has played 24 games and has averaged 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists. There are still a few games in the season for Clark to establish herself, even though she has a strong case to win the award.
