Joe Rogan’s Shocking Concern: Is Conor McGregor Losing His PPV Magic with Every Delay?

Joe Rogan believes former UFC double champion Conor McGregor is ruining his comeback with the unnecessary delay.

Conor McGregor has been out of action for three years now. The last time he fought, it was at UFC 264 where he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier. McGregor was expected to fight Michael Chandler earlier this year but the fight got scrapped. According to MMA expert Joe Rogan, all these delays can hamper McGregor’s much-awaited comeback.

Joe Rogan calls out Conor McGregor for delaying his return fight.

Ahead of his fight with Chandler at UFC 303, Conor McGregor suffered a toe injury and refused to fight. The fighter believed in not giving anybody a single advantage over him inside the octagon. Now months later, there have been no updates about his potential return. Rogan recently mentioned that the more fans wait for McGregor it will be tough for the fighter to sell PPVs.

That’s the problem. As time goes on. If he doesn’t fight for a year from now, it’s a tough sell. You wouldn’t be as excited as you were if Chandler and him fought in July. – Joe Rogan via JRE Fight Compilation UFC 305

Joe Rogan also discussed how hard it is for McGregor to get back his motivation to fight again. According to Rogan, all that money and luxury doesn’t help the Irishman to be determined about his comeback fight. Irrespective of his inactivity, the ‘Notorious’ has done a great job staying in the headlines.

However, those are mostly for all the negative reasons. From getting suspended for reckless driving to getting drunk in a motorcycle rally, fans seem to lose their interest in McGregor’s return. As a result, Chandler who has now waited for two years has started to try his luck elsewhere too.

Michael Chandler plans to fight Max Holloway with Conor McGregor’s lack of clarity

While Michael Chandler is still eager to get the ‘red panty night’ against Conor McGregor, he definitely has his backups. Chandler even called out Islam Makhachev for a lightweight title shot but was immediately rejected by the champion. Recently, McGregor urged UFC to announce the fight date for December which gave a ray of hope for Chandler.

However, as usual, nothing can be said with absolute accuracy when it comes to McGregor. Recently, Dan Hooker tried to get his way around Chandler in order to get the McGregor fight. At times like this, Chandler is also looking for big opportunities such as the BMF title against Max Holloway.

Me and max in 2025…

Max Holloway is currently scheduled for his featherweight title fight against Ilia Topuria at UFC 308. It’s a huge fight card with enormous anticipation from fight fans. As of now, Chandler vs. Holloway doesn’t look that promising to take place, however, nothing can be said about UFC.
